Is there a smaller version of the awesome ZT0804 produced?

And, was/is there a non CF version?
 
ZT0801 would be the closest (same designer) and it is full titanium handle. Indeed it is the right time to buy ZT0801, ~$150 brand new from sponsored dealers. You could also find cheaper ones here at the Exchange.
 
Thanks for the reminder. I haven't carried an 0801 for a while and I need to fix that. :thumbup:

You also might want to look at the 0808. The shape and lines are different from the 0804 but it still has the Rexford characteristics.

There has been only version of the 0804CF which has CF on the presentation side and it's full DLC.

For a smaller version of the 0804CF you have the 0801, by the same designer, and right now, since it has been discontinued, you can find 0801 and 0801BW at about a 40% discount instead of the usual 20%.

I was actually just cruising the ZT site and thinking how a smaller version of the 0804 would be great. I like the design, but its just too big for me.
 
So my 0804 came in the mail today. The blade is not centered. Anyone else not really keen on having to align the blade yourself right out of the box after spending $280 ?

Do I send it back ? Its so out of alignment that it is rubbing the blade on one side. Everything else about the knife is amazing once you get past that one huge problem.
 
Send it back IF the blade is scratched from rubbing. If not, try centering if you're thrilled with everything else about it.
That sucks bro. I bought 3 brand new and each was perfectly centered. After carrying and using them for almost a year they are still perfect and I never adjusted one of them.

If it's brand new from a ZT dealer contact that dealer for a replacement.

If not from a ZT dealer send it to ZT to be fixed.

There were a few ZT 0801FDE prototypes.

I can't say for sure but I don't think there are many of these nor do I know if these will ever enter production.
