zt / thinking of ditching the thumb stud for a wave.

That's gonna be my apocalyptic survival tool if shit goes down on the 21st.

Move over to 26:10 & hear the story of how the Emerson "Wave" Pocket Opening Feature came to be from the man himself ;)

That explains it perfectly. Sometimes the best inventions are found by accident....especially new ways to open beer bottles.

Doesn't make me want to cut up any of my blades, though.

I actually like the Wave idea. Even added it to a SOG that I was given last year. But I think you're asking for trouble since the 300 uses the studs as a stop for the blade, as me filmed by others. But, if you want to try it, by all means go ahead. It is your knife :)

got a link to that film? I'd like to see what that's about.

for me my ZT 560 with wave feature is the best of all in the folder world. kept the thumbstuds of course.

ugly? clunky? LOL in the eye of the beholder and all that, plus it's not jewelry to sit in a safe.

I must really be a stick in the mud, I don't really care for the wave, deep carry clips, or tip up carry :p

Oops, stupid phone. I meant, "as mentioned by others" ;)

I must say that the home-ground wave feature on the first page is pretty ugly. But man, I can only imagine how effective a wave+speedsafe would be. You wouldn't even need good technique to wave it open any more!

I think Emerson should consider an assisted opener...might be the best of both worlds.
