Hey guys just wanted to hear some feed back from anyone with a 562/cf early serial number mainly. I got mine a few days ago serial number 0075 and the blade has a good amount of up and down play while the blade is closed. Almost as if the detent ball is too small or the hole it falls into on the blade is too large. Or could be the back of the blade where the tangeets the closed blade stop seems to have had too much material taken off the blade. It wiggles bad when I walk and drives me nuts. this is only on my 562cf model. I also have the g10 model and that one is solid. I'm Gona send it back to zt but has anyone had any issue like this??!? Please help!!

Did you check the pivot? Could've just worked itself loose. I've had Striders do that (wiggle) and it was just the pivot needed tightening.

I agree that it needs to go back to ZT. While it might be a simple fix, this one shouldn't have gotten past their Q/C check. I'm sure they will turn it around fast. I have 10 ZT's and never had a single problem. I know it makes you kinda sick, but it will come back perfect.

I hope so man. Bummed me out cuz at first I never noticed it till I carried it and felt it wiggle in my pocket

While the blades open its rock solid the pivot is plenty tight

Well, if the blade looks centered when closed, then I guess you should send it back. There aren't a whole lot of moving parts, though...I'd still try tightening the pivot before I'd send it in and be without my knife for a few weeks.

Can you say where you found the 562CF? I've been looking for one

Ya man no problem. My favorite knife store. They have everything especially if u like benchmade. It's in Moreno Valley mall called grommets cutlery and gifts. Great people and you can talk to em all day. Very knowledgable as well ask for cody

Ya I did just now again to triple check I can't even tighten it anymore really. But believe me if I didn't have the g10 562 I probably wouldn't. These knives are amazing. The g10 version is a lot more broken in and it's just a buttery smooth yet crazy solid. The g10 has taken a beating so far too and has held up amazing. I'll admit I'm more nervous r to use the cf model as rough ha

Thanks Ross but I thought you might have ordered from one of our sponsors here. Haven't seen any listed as "InStock"

I didn't realize you'd already tried to tighten it up. Definitely send it in if it's wiggling enough to make noise and won't tighten down any further (my .02).

Me too! I have both (G10 and a CF) and I agree with you that it's a lot harder to beat on that pretty CF/M390 version. I just picked up a second (LNIB) 562CF to have as a user. I probably have 25-30 ZT knives in all, and the 0562 is my favorite by a wide margin.

If you're as in love with the 0562 as I am, you might check out the 0801. It's pretty awesome for all the same reasons, but it looks way different. Good blade steel, ultra comfortable ergonomics, KVT bearings, flipper, etc. I have never been a fan of an all titanium (or metal) handle because keys or something always end up scratching them up in your pocket, and I don't like the lack of texture. The 0801's handle has plenty of texture, though, and the blackwash finish makes it to where I don't have to worry about scratches at all - looks great and you can beat it up all you want. Bought it on a whim because of the KVT (I'd buy a KVT hamster wheel if they made one, and I don't own a hamster) and ended up falling in love with it.

Haha I totally agree with you man but I was debating the new gen 3 550 or the 801. The 801 just looks a lot more appealing to me. 550 is more short and stocky

Hey guys since I sent my zt 0562 in and the original serial number was 0075. I'm almost positive they need to replace the blade. Will I still get the same serial number or will all the markings not be on the blade. How does this work does anyone know?

You won't get any serial - replacement blades are not serialized. But the rest of the markings should be there.

Well damn I really don't like that and wish I would have known. So only I know it's the 75th one now. Well the handle at least. Bummer
