ZT0630 Next ZT Emerson Collaboration

The grooves in the scales are terrible, every once in awhile ZT just puts out some ugly scales and this is one of those times.

I gotta agree here. I got my 0630 today and really like it but would really prefer plain scales. Functionally the grooves don't make any difference and I think they are ugly but like the knife regardless.

I don't think the grooves add anything, but would not describe them as "terrible". I'm neutral on them and see no reason to replace otherwise perfectly functional G10. I like the G10 in these and the 0620 better than the cf on the 0620cf, in any case. All a matter of personal tastes.
 
Guys, Whitty at usa made blade just added some scales to his site for the 0620 I would bet they fit the 0630 as well.
 
Received mine over the weekend. Pretty cool. I like it more than the 0620's I have but that's mostly blade preference. I like the G10 groove style on the 0620 more than the 0630. Detent strength is low on this where a light wrist flick will open the knife, not to my liking. Opens easy with my finger on the lockbar too. Probably will pick up another one hoping for a stronger detent and sell this one.

At the risk of resurrecting an older(er) thread - I just wanted to say thanks dr_fosg8. I ordered on of these custom scales in natural micarta. I am hoping that it will fit on my recently ordered ZT0630. If not I'll have the perfect excuse to pick up the 0620 too!

I took a while to decide to purchase this one as I will also be picking up a Horseman in a couple of weeks when I am back Stateside but I have been thinking about left handed carry options and it seemed like a reasonable argument to pull the trigger on my first Emerson ZT collaboration knife.

I like the design. In my eye it resembles the CSF more than others. Definitely will be looking to get one so I can use both.
 
I'll likely get one - I love the CQC-8 and I love Emerson Knives. I don't like the scales however, so I'll probably end up changing those out.
