ZT0630 Owners share your thoughts please...

While I thought the 0620 was a beauty, it was too much of a porker for me...just too heavy and not lively in hand.

How does this one feel?

The same - they're very heavy for the blade length.

The ZT 0630 or 0620 weigh 6.4 oz, compared to an Emerson CQC-7 that weights 4.0 oz and has similar blade length. The ZTs even weigh a half ounce more than a Strider SMF at 5.75 oz!

That looks great! How did you do it?

I wish I was that talented. I had House of Blades do the anodizing job. I did have to supply them with an aftermarket titanium clip. There anodizing fees are very reasonable.

My 0630 and 0620CF are the best Emersons I've had. The only downside is the 6.3 ounces weight.

The new Emerson Iron Dragon Frame Lock weighs just 4.9 ounces.

However, compare the price of the 0630 at $200 with better steel with Iron Dragon's $345!

Here is a pic of mine. I think right now it is my favorite blade, next to my 550. Added a Kirinite scale cuz, well, I wanted to see how I liked the feel and I wanted something a little different. I have also added an Emerson skull clip as well.

Any chance you don't want the original G10 scale?

Probably going to hold onto it for now. I randomly change them out, though I do tend to favor the thicker Kirinite a little more than the G10.

No problem. I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. I have the CF scale and I've been debating trading someone for the G10 scale instead.

Got mine last Friday. Got it to go with my 0620. Love them both. The wave is a phenomenal feature. I miss it when using non-waved knives.

I like the blade shape and size, but would have to get an aftermarket scale. Don't know why, but the milled g10 looks ultra cheap to me. Also love the idea of a ZT with a wave.

Mine is wearing a USAMade custom scale too - (thanks Whitty!) - I replaced the ZT clip with an original parkerized Emerson clip too.

For some reason, I am struggling to upload photos but wanted to share.

Have really been enjoying this knife...

Cheers,

Ben

I picked this one up on Saturday and couldn't be more pleased. Like everything about this blade. Did notice that it takes very little pressure on the lock bar to impede opening. The clerk at the store was showing it to me and commented on how it was really hard to flip open. I immediately flipped it with no effort at all and showed him how you need to keep pressure of the lock bar. Guess I should have agreed with him and tried to work out a discount since it was "hard to open". Anyway, it's been in my pocket since I left the store. Glad I went with this one over the 0620. Really like the upswept blade way more than the tanto.

I have the 620 - and it is truly a beast of a knife.

You have to be careful with it to keep from cutting yourself - it will open when you pull it out of your pocket.

Great knife, and yes, ZT knows how to put an edge on knives!!

best
