Zt560 or Domino

Between those two, I like the Domino more, but if you're going to be doing actual heavy cutting with it then get the 0560.

I second the Domino. It will carry much better in the pocket due to less weight/thickness and have far superior ergonomics due to the forward choil and leaf-shaped blade. The fit-and-finish will also likely be higher than the 560, because it is -very- difficult to beat Spyderco's Taichung knives for less than $300. Also, the Domino's CTS-XHP steel has received consistent, positive testing reviews by a number of users. The same cannot be said for the 560's ELMAX steel.

With the better steel, the Domino might be the choice for heavy cutting.

Better steel possibly, but not built for hard use. Thin blade with a fine tip vs thick blade with a strong tip. Elmax is a supersteel as well, one made for wear and tear.

you should also consider the 0566

Good point, but the OP did say he wanted one by the end of October. Not sure if the 566 has hit the street in the states.

So Spyderco-man, what exactly are you looking to do with the knife? That will definitely help you decide.

Remy brought up a great point. They're pretty much intended for 2 totally different uses.

I prefer the domino out of the two for edc. It's the better slicer by far.
The flipper on the ZT tends to get hung up on my pocket when putting it back but I haven't had that problem with the domino. For heavy cutting ZT all the way!
To complicate things a bit, have you tried a southard?

Out of those two I would take the Domino, no doubt about it.
I also agree with Spketch I would take the Southard over both of them though.

I've owned both and for me the 0560 was just bigger than I wanted to carry. I have been carrying the Domino everyday for almost a month and I think it will be a keeper.

Not sure if there is a meaningful difference in build quality between the two, but they are very different both ergonomically and aesthetically.
I prefer the stock front scale on the 0560 over the Domino, but I prefer the lock side finish on the Domino. I will definitely be shopping for a replacement scale for my Domino, I don't care much for the CF laminate at all.
The Domino is plenty of knife, definitely not small, but the 0560 is a big knife and looks, feels, and carries like one.

If the unusual CF scale on the Domino doesn't bother you, or you you don't mind a pocket full of knife, you won't go wrong either way you decide.

"Spyderco-Man"... C'mon, I believe your choice is obvious.

The 560 is an amazing knife, its truly built to last. Yes its fairly big but doesn't carry badly at all. I don't know much about Spyderco though so I can't comment on their product.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it greatly! I agree they serve different purposes. I don't really put my knives through hard use, they are both similar in price and was looking at it from that angle. Thanks for suggesting the Southard and zt566. I'll have to add those to my seemingly endless list of wants. Heck, I'll probably go with the Domino, but still not sure. I've been eyeing it for a long while. Still not certain lol

I fell in love with the 0560, carried it for quite a while it is really amazing how such a big knife just disappears in the pocket and is so easy to carry. Only reason I don't carry it anymore is that I got promoted at work to a position that doesn't require the heavy use folder, so I switched to an 0801 which I really like but just isn't as smooth as my 056x knives... Of course those do have a few thousand more flips of break in under their belt.
