Zt560 or Domino

Depends , are you going up actually use or just play with it , the zt is a far Bette choice if for a knife your going to be used , who cares if its a spyderco fact is the domino was made to look pretty not to be used

This is the exact opposite of spyderco's philosophy. Many spyderco fans, myself included, didn't even like the way the knives looked until personally experiencing the superb ergonomics and cutting ability.

Haha....This doesn't seem to be getting any easier to decide. I originally posted this with 2 knives in mind, now there are 6 that I really want. I'm getting the Domino for sure. Now I just need to know which ZT that I'll get after that. I already have a 350, 200, and a 121. The 560/561 is very appealing to me. I don't mind the size and weight. Then I'm really liking the 566, the more I read about it.
I may need to sell a knife or 2 out of the collection to pay for this habit. I haven't sold a single knife since this silly obsession started a few years ago. Xmas is in 2 months, and I need to buy presents for the kids, but only after daddy gets his presents.

I'll probably have a Domino one of these days but as of now have zero first hand experience with one.
I really like the 0560/1 knives as they're built tough and carry nice for a big folder but they're really long. I prefer the 0550 for EDC just because it's a bit shorter (if wider).

I had a Southard and found the handle a bit short for the blade as with tip up carry I could nick my finger/s with the blade tip if I wasn't careful. I only carried it once or twice before I sold it.

So of the two you mentioned I'd be all in with the Domino

I carry a 550 daily it has been beating out my para2 even. For it to be as long as it is it carries rather well. But, i want a southard really bad im trying to trade my 561 for one as i type this haha. Everything that has been mentioned would be awesome carries good luck with the new addiction!! (sell the kids and buy moAR knives)

Aww come on, Spudly. I can't believe that. I'll be the first to admit I prefer Kershaws/ZTs, but I'm sure the Domino can hold it's own.

It can. Haters gonna hate, fans gonna fan. The ZT is huge compared to the domino. HUGE. they are both quality with the steel nod going to the domino. They both can hold their own but due to blade profile, steel and such i would be the domino can out cut the zt slice for slice. Plus - go to the mall and open both in public to open a package. see which garners more attention.

If you are wanting a flipper with outstanding design and materials it is the Southard. None of the others that I have owned come close and have been let go because of this. I know this is all my opinion but getting the Southard first kind of ruined the whole production flipper market for me.:D

Domino gets the nod. I've had both the 561 and the Domino, but I got rid of the ZT within a week of owning it. Still have, and plan to keep, the Domino. This is just my opinion (and I'm a huge Spyderco fan FWIW), but here's why I prefer the Domino:

Size - the Domino carries much easier. While the ZT carries well for its size, the bottom line is it's a huge knife. More blade than I'd ever need.

Steel - CTS-XHP is a better steel than Elmax, and that can't be argued.

Action - The Domino is smooth, fast, and rock solid. The ZT is also these things, but it just doesn't flip like the Spyderco.

Comfort - The ergos on the Domino are FAR superior. No hot spots; feels like it was designed specifically for my hand (as all Spyderco knives do for me).

Aesthetics - The Domino is just a better looking knife. I love the TI/Carbon Fiber scales (and unlike too many, I'm a huge fan of the CF weave on this knife).

This is not to say that the ZT is not an excellent knife. It is. It's overbuilt, good looking and will serve you well forever should you get one. Someone above said something about the Domino just being pretty, but not meant for use...I couldn't disagree more.

What a bunch of poppycock horsefeathers. Looking at the designers Hinderer and Eric Glesser's design philosophies, both were meant to be used, perhaps one excels in different applications over the other but both are great folders and not just because of looks.

EDITED for political correctness, lol I caught myself.
