0600 Sighting

One of these showed up in the mail today by mistake (it was suppose to be a 560cbcf, and it's going back in favor of that) and all I can say its it is giant. I'm a fan of big knives and my god is this one huge. Sadly, I can't afford both and I think I'd prefer the 560cbcf, but this thing is a beast.

Hi Nj -

That is kinda cool - you get to check out two supremely awesome knives.

My observation, keeping in mind I own both of these knives. You can get a "base model" 560, but there just is nothing like the 600 in the lineup.

That is very true and definitely something I thought about (and still am thinking about), and truth be told if it didn't have the machining on the titanium it would probably be in my hands right now rather than boxed up to ship back. It is very very cool and I'm definitely fighting the urge to play with it and keep it, but it might be just a little much for me. Has anyone done any cutting with theirs yet or tested out the blade steel?

I have used the knife to cut some things (daily carry since I received it), but I cannot say I have anything to say about the properties of the steel yet.

I guess the 3d pattern on the scales is a love it or hate it design. I am in the love it category. The more I look at it in detail, the more I like it.

the steel is decent, i would rate just above elmax honestly. Edge retention is a bit better, and slightly harder. I wouldnt call it astounding like s110v, but i would rate it above elmax. Have daily carried and sharpened since receiving

My ZT 0600 certainly has the thickest ZT folder blade that I've seen and that's a big plus in my book. Operates smoothly and the CF scale assures solid grip. The blade steel is an unknown to me.

A sensible balance of heft, beauty and uniqueness like the contented Danish femme fatales the way I imagined them in the tales of Hans Chritian Andersen!

I like the 0600 over the 560CBCF, like its size. In pocket now. The 0560 does have a awesome look to it though

Yeah, I looked everything over and thought about it thoroughly, but the 600 is heading back to kershawguy and the 560 is heading to me. There is nothing wrong with the 600, but in terms of style, aesthetics, and overall appeal the 560 wins for me. I did love the ridiculously thick blade stock on the 600 though.

That's my favorite part

Would someone be kind enough to post pics of the 0600 next a q36? Particularly the back side of the handles. The 0600 handle seems a bit more slender from what I recall, would like to confirm.

Just got my 0600 today! Love it but there is one problem...my blade has a patch of scuffing on the blade finish. What would you do? Keep it or return it.

Given the stone wash nature of the finish I would just keep the knife. If it was satin or bead blast I would have it fixed.

Thanks guys...here's a pic of the scuffing for a reference, a pic of the 0600 and my Tilt in Blue C-Tek & a family portrait. ;)

For the $400(ish) price tag, I'd contact ZT and see if they would throw it back in the washer to get the spot evened out.
