0770 CF production question

Sweet. For folks who use their 0770CFs frequently or don't rotate them very often, the additional edge-holding offered by M390 makes the LE's higher price worth it. But I don't use my 0770CF that much and I rotate it all the time. Also, while I like my 0770CF a lot, I'm still not a big fan of assisted-opening knives. Had ZT added KVT to the LE, I might have felt differently. But they didn't do that. So there's just not enough incentive for me to pony up the extra bucks to buy an LE.

I think it's funny to see people going crazy over the blade material hype....do you really think anyone could tell the difference between elmax and m390 if you took the words off the blade

I have the elmax version and I won't be buying the m390 version, I think elmax is good stuff. I know I couldn't tell the difference between the two and for me to buy another 0770 cf I would need something like kvt and no speed safe, though I am getting used to the assisted opening. The 0770 is my most carried knife.

I have a 0770CF-M390 coming just to have one and compare with my 0770CF. I have 3 of the aluminum 0770 since I use one a lot and want backups. 0770 is a heck of a light and tough folder for less than $120! I already had to get a replacement torsion bar since mine broke. I should get a backup torsion bar. ZT asked for a picture because the torsion bar in the 0770 and 0770CF are different.

Also, 0770 weighs just 3.7 ounces compared to 5.4 ounces for the 0566.

Cool, can't wait to see some comparison pics

Just got an email from the headquarters of blade. They have the m390 version in stock now!
Yes they do have it in stock.

I dropped by their retail store 30 seconds after they opened this morning and picked up the M390 version. I asked the fellow at the counter for an "interesting" serial number. He had many to pick from; BHQ had at least 20 boxes on the shelf.

The knife looks and works great with clean CF patterning on the scales. However (as mentioned earlier), if it wasn't engraved on the blade, I couldn't tell the difference between the Elmax and M390 versions.

As soon as my iPad finishes its iOS 8 upgrade, I'll post up a few comparison photos of my 0770CF and 0770CF-M390.

So, what number did you get? I'd ask for either 0770 or 0390!

My observations so far in comparison to the standard elmax model. The pivot has slightly different finish along with the blade steel upgrade.I ponder how limited this release will be???That's all folks.........

A slightly different finish on the pivot along with the blade steel aren't enough to persuade me to buy one . . . but thanks for the update. :) I'll keep saving up for 3" version of the 0562CF . . . if ZT ever makes it, that is.

Here's some photos of the 0700CF and 0700CF-M390, though I know the images are crap quality.

Bet ya' can't tell the difference in the first pic!

Only by closely examining the labeling on the blades in the second photo can you differentiate the two.

Nice! I just got my Elmax version in the mail today - I'll be cutting some cardboard after dinner to see how it holds up...
