We had the same thing when the 560/61 first came out. When they first came guys were paying more than msrp.

The 0777 is out now and fs on the forum at inflated prices too. I saw one for only $950. Nice to have lots of extra dollars.

They are a limited production so money doesn't seem too important to some guys. What's $200 or more than street price.

Well.......all I can say is.....I'm glad my grail is $600 lol and not a production knife....

I don't think it will last. Right now, very few have actually made it into the hands of the knife-buying public. The one selling for $950 hadn't sold last time I looked. The highest I've seen someone pay so far is $800, which is freaking ludicrous........but if you don't want to be patient, thats what you're gonna pay.

The fact is, production on this knife is gonna be 1000+.......not 400 or so like the TiLT, or less, like some of the other limited production models that KAI put out. Once all of the online stores and brick and mortars get their pre-orders out, there will still be a few for sale here and there. Shortly afterward, the market will be saturated with them. No, there aren't going to be hundreds for sale, but they aren't going to be impossible to find and they definitely aren't going to be fetching near as much money as they are right now.

Beautiful knife, no doubt. I want one myself, but even I am a bit over the hype at this point.

You can live without it! So it's not a matter of life and death you get one. (wait a second I forgot where i'm posting)

0777 looks nice but I would rather wait for the 0801 to come out.

While that will be true, after the initial flood the people that really wanted them will have them and they will once again become scarce. Current prices for the tilt on ebay are $500+ for SW and about $650 for a DLC Tilt. Keep in mind these originally sold for about $270.

I honestly hate crap like this, just shows how low some members of the community are willing to stoop to make a quick buck, and at the expense of others no less.

Nobody is holding a gun to people's head to buy these knives. Buyers cause these prices, not sellers, as they are willing to buy at inflated prices.

Yeah, don't you just hate the free enterprise system is the good ole USA. Stinks, prices should be regulated,,,don't ya think???

It's just like the XM's They're selling them for double, even triple what they paid at the show, just because they know people will pay for it.

Here's what bothers me... Would you be so offended if a soldier that doesn't get paid nearly enough to take care of his family, buys an XM-18 straight from Rick for around $350, turns around and sells it on the secondary market for $700+ just to make ends meet? My guess is that you would be okay with that. My point is that you never know someone else's situation and what drives them to do the things that they do. Sure, some people may only be in it to make some money and not everyone that's selling a knife at an inflated price absolutely has to, but because they can and because there is someone that will buy it for what they ask, then why not? Blatant profiteering at someone else's expense is another thing, but no one is being hurt by this sort of thing, and no one is forcing anyone to buy it. If you have the money and you want it, then so be it. I personally wouldn't buy that knife for that price, but I have certainly bought knives for more than that that were even more inflated because I really wanted them. I've also bought knives for a deal and sold them at a later date for a profit, it's how I can afford more custom knives. It's an investment in some cases. And furthermore, who is anyone to criticize what someone else is willing to spend on a knife that they want?

You dont even want to know what ive paid for some Blurs. I dont have a problem with people asking what they want for something, nobody is forcing anyone to pay it. Wait a while until there are more out on the market and the guys asking insane prices will be sitting on them a long time .

There was a 0560 or two went for 400 when they first came out and it's not even limited. They were flying off the shelf for 260 from dealers too. Now you can snag one for about 200 if you look around. If people can't wait, or they are afraid there may not be enough made and they can spare the cash let them pay!

I didn't get in on the brand new Tilts, but I managed to trade into two down the road. I'd love to have a 0777 but if I don't get one there's other stuff I like and who knows what may pop up when they're all out there.

A year or two ago, I believe the Hinderer crew addressed this topic. They basically said if they caught anyone taking advantage of their direct sales in this manner, they would discontinue sales to said people.

When the thrill is over & they are worth much less, buyers who paid 800+ will kick themselves. The 1st 560's went for 500.00, now they are less than half that, even though its not limited production.

These buyers are collectors. I doubt anyone would pay several hundred dollars over release price just to make it a user. Look at the knife, it's not meant to be used. I'd estimate 1 in 10 will probably be used to cut anything other than paper, then the other 90% will go in a safe. If someone is willing to pay double or even triple, why not? I'd sell it for top dollar too.

The ZT560 is totally different, that's supply and demand. There is a very limited supply of the ZT777, so I don't see the prices going down much.

I know lots of people that have spent $500, $1200, even $22K for a baseball and that's over 15 years ago. The baseballs were obviously special to them.
