0780 .... It came!

Does the pocket clip from a 0550 fit on it?

The 0550 and skyline share the same clip...you can see from those pics, the screw hole spacing is not the same. This clip appears to be the new deep carry one that is being included on the Knockout and Echelon. It's nice, but the button head screws can catch and snag sometimes.

1. No european dealer that I know of has it. I think ZT requires a large purchase in order for foreign shops to get knives. This is why nice knives are 2-3 times the price in Europe (partly).

2. Jimping looks vicious, but it isn't too bad. In tip up, there are no issues with getting stuff from the pocket.

3. Deployment is good, but requires a little more flipping than other knives, and quite a bit less than the skyline. It is still a manual folder though.

4. I say tactical skyline because of the size and weight. It is a small folder for ZT. I don't know why anyone would want this blade smaller. It looks big, but it is relatively small.

Actual blade length is the advertized 3.5 inches. The weight is 4.1 oz. As for the "protruding" metal, I like it. This is a small-ish tactical folder with incredible lockup and a glass breaker/ skull crusher. Yes, it is also a great utility knife and also a good EDC option. But, ZT (IMO) doesn't make utility knives, they make heavy duty tactical blades and that is why I don't believe this design is bad at all.

This had the best ergos of any tactical folder I have had. It feels like a greatly improved RAT1.

Pictures are below, but not my hands are huge. At the palm, they are more than 4" in width, so that hopefully should be a good comparison. I sold many of my folders, so that I could buy more Kershaws and ZTs, so the skyline is it for folders. If you want it to be shown next to ESEEs, Beckers, Moras, Ontarios, SAKs, let me know.

It is a handsome knife, and I'm sure I'll get used to the glass breaker on the end, but just looking at it reminds me of the big pommel on the CS AK-47 which I hate. That being said, this one isn't nearly as obnoxious and I'm still most likely going to buy this knife. Come to think of it, I think I'm already beginning to not mind it.

I had an AK-47 and it broke within a few months of use, along with a couple other CS knives. On the AK-47, the pommel hooks around and makes deep pocket carrying strange. Tip down, the blade is nearly invisible in the pocket. Tip up, the pommel has that lanyard hole which is also nice and convenient.

What is the weight in grams ?
How about its balance blade/handle ratio ?
How convenient is the handle with its protrusions (a sharp rise near index finger and a thickening in the end of a handle) ?
Does the glass breaker allow comfortable reverse grip ?
Would like to see it in a pic.
If this breaker could crash a glass fast and effectively the knive could
serve as a survival tool in a vehicle.
A look of 780 is aggressive. A definite piercing tool.
Would love to see more belly, just like on Skyline.

How about its balance blade/handle ratio ? Balance point is right at the end of the finger choil where the index and middle finger would be.
How convenient is the handle with its protrusions (a sharp rise near index finger and a thickening in the end of a handle) ? This is extremely comfortable and ergonomic. It allows the knife to fit well in the fingers and palm
Does the glass breaker allow comfortable reverse grip ? Allows for a great rev grip even with gloves

This knife is a tactical blade first and therefore it is great for piercing and also the thin width of the blade (not thickness) allows fast slashing with little resistance. I will be doing a video review after time of use.

Thanks. Last chance boot folding knife :)
Could you open it with a flick of your wrist (without a flipper or thumbstuds) ?

The pommel area looks like it might have been designed as a non-lethal, pain-compliance tool. I'm beginning to really like the look of this knife.

I thought this knife was going to be a bit thinner than what it is..it's about the same thickness as a recon 1...

ZT typically has beefy knives because of their liners which are the strongest I have seen. I bet this knife could hold every bit the weight and tension of the Recon 1. Infact, I sold 2 Cold Steels so that I could get this knife. I think it is a lot better to carry that a CS is.

Thank you for the in hand pixs. I like this blade shape better than the 0350, more pointy.

Thanks for the pics, it looks great. I still love the low ride pocket clip they have been using.

If you apply a lot of cutting pressure does the liner lock move over further?
