Here is one that you don't see very often. A satin and convexed edge 1 of 300 SHBM. This one came to me already with a very thin edge. Actually, it has the thinnest edge geometry that I have ever seen from the factory. The edge was actually slightly thinner than my beloved FABM.
This one was a real pain in the rear to work. First of all I had to be very very careful about removing as little as possible to get the satin because it was already so thin to begin with. The most pain in rear part of it was trying to remove those darn slotted fasteners. Those things are glued in there friggin tight! I was finally able to remove them after hours of trial and error and much cursing. After removing the bolts everything is fine and dandy right? Not!!! After grinding on the tang and removing the dimples those darn bolts are now too darn long
It goes on and on.... but you guys get the point
Bottom line is that I don't ever want to go near one of those slotted monsters again! Probably because I might not be so lucky next time.
What is most interesting is how closely my FABM resembles this SHBM in terms of weight, balance, and overall feel. I just put them on a postal scale and the:
FABM = 1lb 4.1oz
SHBM = 1lb 4.6oz
