1 of a Kind Becker HA What's that about?

Ahh, yeah now it's starting to make some sense. No question there were QC problems on the one I posted. The pic above of the one on ebay looks like it has some of the same serration problems toward the front (tough to tell though). I also noticed that the notch on the one I posted was really roughly cut, and one of the forward chisel bevels has a slight bevel on the wrong side which was blasted over, so it was clearly a factory flaw. Same with the serrations - the blasted finish is there as evidence on the blunt tips of each serration.

On a side note - where these knives issued to someone in our military? I see the NSN but can't figure out who used them.

i always assume any novelty one offs also didn't make Ethan any money :P

a lot of the "1 of a kind" marked knives were testers -- I saw a bin full of blackjack boot knives once, every one in the basket had the etch.
none of them were identical.
handles were brown or black, polished, sanded, or bead blasted.
blades were polished, satin, scotch brite, or sandblasted - and not necessarily the same steel.
each knife had a different combination of features and the sheaths were in the bin above -- again, all were a slight variation on the theme.
once you paired a blade with a sheath, you definitely had a unique item -- although it was nothing special.

I was thinking that maybe the OAK mark indicated that it was a blem.

Yep blems a given then as per Mike Stewart
The undetermined
Grabbed a few #1's by chance
all not fakes as per bladite might suggest
Got to see that basement of butter
Lobster and clams and yes remembered the butter

it's pretty darn misleading to take blems and one offs and label them that way

hell, i got a sharpie

when i say they are fakes, i generally mean that jokingly

but neither are they authentic in a very real sense; i feel bad if anyone paid $$$ for something they thought was something else

just interesting scrap :D

Yea here I go bearer of bad news
Blades all authentic and Factory 1st
Oh well all Joe's Fault as he got me started with Ethan's Blades as a throw along with some Ka-Bar 1950's Proto's as they never made it to production,
as far as the cost of a fisk blackjack as little as 110 and as high as 250 US, at the high end NIB, at low end a user but Micarta pinned scales and sharp as shit as you already know
and yes so interesting scraps, of some of the sweetest steel as you know
Hope all well
