100+ folders

One thing I don't understand is why you would spend over 100 on a folding pocket knife. Now I understand having the money to blow. But most people I know, that's a house payment. I think a good sharp buck could beat ANY spyderco, ZT, or whatever else. Everyone knows I keep a sharps 300 on me. That's my one and only folder. I have given away each and every other folder I ever owned and they couldn't compare. Skill beats price tag IMHO. Any one else feel like David( cheap but really reliable folders((buck, kershaw))) beats Goliath?(anything more expensive)

Your comprehension is not really my problem...

peppercorn thats an old pic I need a much bigger fork lift now lol. Yeah I go to the warehouse sale think there are a few from there in the pic.

LOL!
Well, growth is good.

Gotta love the factory sale, I missed it this year however.
I was just down that way today as a matter of fact.
Nice to make your acquaintance, fellow NorthWesterner😄.

I understand why some people would never spend more than $20 on a knife, and I don't judge them. :)

As long as you're happy that's all that matters. After all you know the old saying, "Ignorance is bliss". (Not knowing something is often more comfortable than knowing it)

HMMMMM...a new member stirring up the old debate of cheap EDC versus expensive EDC....

*SNIFF SNIFF* :suspicion: I smell troll.

If not though, and this happens to be legitimate, then maybe the forums aren't for you sir. It sounds like all you need is walmart or bladehq newsletter. And I don't mean that in an insulting way. Some people don't see the value in a $400 folder and for others it becomes a hobby (some people collect and use knives at varying degrees) and that's fine. This has been argued before and I'm sure its here in older threads, but no matter how you spin it; At the end of the day people will EDC what they like and find effective and what they can afford.

Everyone has their limit.

Buck makes a nice knife, and if that works for you then so much the better.

It is all relative. I just recently had a chance to buy a knife for a good deal, $300, and that knife easily sells for over $400 regularly. I offered that deal to a friend of mine, since I already had one copy of the knife in question, and he said "I don't spend that kind of money on a knife!!".

But the same guy will spend $1500 on a handgun that he'll shoot 100 rounds out of (if he gets really frisky) and the put it away and never touch it again.

That's a house payment where I live.

Whatever floats your boat!

best

You can even take it further, (and some people do) and say I don't need a 40 dollar Buck, or a 30 dollar Kershaw, when my 5 dollar no brand folder, or 2 dollar Walmart box cutter does everything I need. After all 40 dollars is more than most people's water bill per month. Or, I don't need a car because I have legs and it's way cheaper to walk everywhere. After all a car payment, gas, tax and insurance is enough to feed me for a month. Bottom line you can be as tight as you please and perhaps get by, it's your choice.

Funny question to ask on a blade forum... Whatever, a question is a question and my answer to you is that you probably don't get that special pleasure I get from handling, and even more from using a really fine knife (which may or may not exceed your arbitrary limit of 100 $). As pics can only better this thread, I will contribute with a pic of my worst (the beater I carried for over 20 years) and my best (the only one I don't actually use and I'm ashamed of it...). The knife treasure has expanded since and the Lanny Clip isn't the most expensive anymore (I believe...) but it still hasn't been put to work. I guess it's because it embodies something like perfect knife beauty in my eyes...

Ok. So here's where I stand. Your right. My post was idiotic. Partly because I edited it to say that I was referring to the 600 dollar folders. And mostly because I'm an idiot. I appologize. I wasn't really thinking last night, plus fighting with the gf, and ranted. Totally my fault. Again, I apologize for that. I hope yall have a wonderful day.

No need to apologize. You asked a question and got answers. Mostly from knife nuts apparently (me included). But you don't need to be a knife nut (and / or spend many dollars on knives) to like knives. Humble knives deserve just as much love and they do wonders. I do love my ugly beater because it's my everyday helper. That's quite a lot, already.

The folders that I like/buy start at over $100 and go up. Different strokes.

$100 house payment? For "most" people?!

That might cover a lot fee for a backwoods trailer park, but an actual mortgage?

Pics are always good. Would love a pic of that sharps 300...
