Well there are a lot of really good things I could say about this forum and all its members, and especially about those of you who have coached me in my knife making efforts and most of all about Mr. Becker himself. It could probably go on for pages to tell about all I have learned right here on this forum, on top of Becker mountain (although bits of that need to be left there (:o) so I will keep it short by saying simply that I have profited immensely by my contact with all of you and by getting to know several of you personally. And that I am very grateful and look forward to developing the relationships further as time and opportunity allow.

So it is time for me to give something back. As a token, on this 1000th BF post, I am going to give away one of my knives to a fellow Beckerhead. The rules are simple enough - to enter the contest just post on this thread - chatting is absolutely OK and while to ease my use of a random number generator it would be simpler if chatting were confined to a single post, even that is not a "rule". I can easily enough edit the posts to keep it fair.

OK - there have been 81 posts here over two weeks (not all were entries though) and no entries for a few days now. So I will close the contest now (2:48 CDT, 20 March.) Post 81 will be the final entry. See new thread for where we go from here.:)

Just popping in Col to congratulate you on your 1000th post. Not an entry.

BH346 is in. :D

Congrats on 1K. Looks like that will be one sweet knife. If that blade is under 5.5", it would easily be an EDC candidate for me.

Congrats Col.! Thank you very much for your generosity and a thousand contributions to the community!

ETA: Wow, the knife is coming along fantastic! Thanks for this opportunity!

Congrats on 1K Col!
That looks like a great design. I'm excited to see the finished product!
Thanks for a doing this very generous giveaway!

I just won a knife, so I wouldn't feel right about entering.
Congratulations on reaching your 1k posts while contributing to the forum and thank you doing this generous GAW!
That is a nice looking blade. I look forward to seeing what it looks like finished.

This is very generous of you Col. I'll toss my hat in the ring for it very gladly. (BH#131)

Any chance we can find out more about the blade? It looks like either the blade was ground down more in the blank, or after HT you raise the part where the ricasso would go? Its hard to tell from the photos. Either way, it looks excellent. I hope to eventually have a place to attempt to make my own knives (stupid housing prices are so high here in CA that I'm stuck in an apartment for now).

Colonel I'm MOST DEFINITELY in. It looks like one helluva blade sir! And congrats on the 1,000 posts. I only hope a fraction of mine have been as helpful as your contributions!

Well, if rules changed i must get in for just in case.
Knife looks nice, specially in damascus.

Congrats on Your first thousand.
