Let's be "scientific" and get "data." :)
Multi-choice for those of you who are confused. ;)

Too late to change the title of the poll now, but you should have clarified. What usage?

Hunting knife?
Survival knife?
Tactical fixed blade?
Tactical Folder?
Traditional Folder?

Good point.

For people posting in this thread, feel free to add which category of knife usage you are thinking of.
For me it would generally be survival/outdoors fixed blade knives, and traditional folders.

Love it in my traditional folders, though there is a place for other steels depending on application. I fish a lot, so appreciate less reactive steels as well.

O

There's no "Great" option. 1095 rules my traditional stuff, but I'd take it in just about any configuration.

A "scientific" poll would consist of a properly designed random poll of knife purchasers/owners and not responses to a post on a knife forum. Sorry but my undergraduate degree with a major in political science is showing. :) In any event, I still like 1095 and similar non-stainless steels for pocket knives.

That's why it's "scientific" in quotes. ;)
But you like 1095 so it's all good. :D

OOoohh... the "Good/Cats" combo... right up there with the UP-DOWN-UP-DOWN-LEFT-RIGHT-LEFT-RIGHT-B-A-START move.

Yep!

I voted good. I mostly love 1095 in traditional folders, but have several fixed blades in 1095 I am very fond of as well.

I also voted cats. Because there was no turtle button.

I has debated putting a turtle option in.
I guess my lack of scientific training is showing...stupid history degree! :D

I voted "Meh."

I use it in traditionals because GEC doesn't want to use anything else. Fixed blades I prefer to save up a little longer and get some 3V.

I'll use it if it's the only option in a design I want but if something better is available I'd prefer that, even for a bit more expense.

So, 1095... meh.

Works for me. :)

"Cats" are still beating "Meh" though. :D

It's actually, "up up down down left right left right B A select start" if you're talking about Contra. I have no scientific proof for this. All data was lost when my Nintendo cartridge erased my saved game. Know that.

Yep, was talking Contra there, Mecha. And you are probably correct... I haven't had the controller in my hands for decades.

I seem to remember that you didn't have to press "Select" unless there were two players?

At any rate, I bet Bill and Lance preferred 1095 in their blades.
