1095 vs 15N20, all things being unequal.

Warren, I have a price list from Achim from 2015, I can email that to you if interested. Or you can email Achim Wirtz wootz@web.de. I need to talk with him again myself. I had ordered 115W8 from him a couple years ago, he's a good guy, give him a shout.

Sure, I'd appreciate that. Does he speak english? My German is very rusty.

He is fluent but he has to be. There are native speakers of at least three different languages living within 25 miles of his front door and my observation is that a lot of people in that area use English as the common language because nobody is all that offended by being forced to speak it.;)

He just sent me his current list. He has both alloys in stock. Need to get some while exchange rates are favorable :D

Glad you got it Warren. I was waiting until he replied to my email yesterday with the 2017 list and I was going to email that to you.

Scott, the bad news is that Achim is out of the 5mm/.200 thick 115W8 and only has the 2.7/.110 and .3.3/130 stuff listed. Only the 3.3 is available in the 50mm/2 inch wide bars. When he first smelted the stuff, he had sheets and partial sheets available. I don't know if he still does because all he has listed is 40-60mmbar stock.

Echoing Stu, Achim is a great guy to deal with and we're very lucky to have niche steelmakers like him.
