117 CLUB Permanent thread keep adding

Wasn't familiar with the 117 until I started hanging out in this subforum. So when it re-released this year, I jumped as soon as it became available.

Ordered custom kydex from 7Rattles Bushcraft. Experimenting with toggles for IWB carry.
So far, it's pretty effective. Allows the knife to move more with the body than a standard IWB clip.

An electric file came in handy to slim out the grip and rough up the texture. Very solid in the hand now. Very happy with my new weekend carry blade.

Here is what I've accumulated so far. I have grown to really like 117s. Hence, the reason I made a thread to add 117s to the customs page at Buck. An elk 117, buffalo horn, stag, or whatever would be sweet.

Not sure what that means?
Also i like the heritage models but haven’t pulled the trigger on the 117 yet? Probably because i did on the 103,119 &120. I’ll have to check my inventory lol.

It has never been used, I am original owner. I also bought the same handle a 119, It just looked like a good sturdy knife. I have other 119's but this 117 just because I never saw leather used that way. At the time. I just wax the handles.

That was a waste of time, just like almost all knife review videos.

O.M.
The 117 is smaller than the 119, I had no idea /s Agreed, that was a waste of time. No water bottles cut but he did pound a cutting tool through a piece of wood so it was a real YouTube knife video 😂

Well, I didn't pound this through a piece of wood in the forest, so I don't know about that. However, I can report that the 117 makes a great breakfast!

A couple weeks ago (maybe more?) B Billabong01 showed off a fantastic 119 that he used as a Vegemite spreader. I'd always used a bread knife to cut the bread, a kitchen knife to chop the onions/veggies, and a butter knife to spread the spreadables. How boring. Turns out, B Billabong01 was right - a 119 (or in my case a 117) can do it all, and I have less to clean up.
