119 users?

Goose. I considered what you said about a review. I think I will do one on the vanguard. It will be awhile though. I think I'm going to exclusively use the vanguard for all my fixed blade needs until after deer season.Thats in Dec. That way it can be a true review instead of just a weekend review. I'm going to see if this s30v is as good as it is suppose to be. Of course I will have my 110 AG, just in case. By doing this it also will keep me from buying another user for at least a few months. Really looking at either a stag Akonua or a Bark River Journeyman.

I don't think you will be dissapointed ;)

I wish I had that kind of will power!!! :D

On a serious note though, I do look forward to your review! I may "need" to buy a S30V vanguard then also...

Goose. Well it was wishful thinking. But I think you are right. A few weeks maybe?? A few days??

The internet never closes. The stores around this part of Illinois don't carry much except junk. Humm. Already having withdrawls just thinking about it. Humm I wonder how long I really could go????? Considering that in past 2 weeks bought 119,105,102. Hummm.. Could I go for a month??? I'm as bad as a druggie.

Funny :D But I do look forward to your review. I don't have a Vangard yet so I need to see what I'm missing.

Its been 24 hours and havent bought one yet. I'm looking forward to the end results also. That way I can buy a new knife!!! Actually have my eye on a Bark River. Well Monday is my day off and I think I'm going to take the kids hiking or fishing. I will have to find something to cut along the way.

The truth of the matter is that the 119 is one heck of a knife. The blade is good as an all-rounder, holds a decent edge and is fairly tough. I have always liked the blade design and the balance, plus a wonderful eye appeal. No wonder Buck sells more of these than any other fixed blade on their agenda.

For hunting deer, I really like the newer S30V Bos treated 193. I also carry a delightfully sharp 191 in the Jeep as a reserve blade. Both knives are tops in my book as a deer cutter.

Last year I tried out one of the newer, thinner profile 103 skinners. To tell you the truth, that tool cuts like a house on fire. It may not be quite as study as my old 103, but the edge is something to behold. This knife gets used in the kitchen for more than just the routine chores. I think more men should buy their wives Buck blades for the kitchen!

I maintain all our kicthen knives. She can always tell when they have been sharpened. She always nicks herself even though I warn her. I do like the design and profile of the 119. I bought one along iwth the 105 and the 102. The knife is just a little larger than I like for actual use. I have always liked a clip blade. I like the classic looks of the. I have a Case slab side that the 119 was going to replace, due to I hate the handle design of the slabside, too flat. But for now the 110AG and the Vanguard AG will remain my hunting and main outdoor blades. Don't stone me folks but I do think I will pick up one of those BRKT Boones fo next year camping trip to Kentucky. It has the blade design I've been looking for. I wish Buck made one like it.

The 105 is nice leangth blade ,but for camping I do like something a little heavier.

This one I'm seriously considering. 5 inch blade

Here is my current hunting package.
