If your hands were shaking I'm left to wonder if it has the same vibration properties as the b11. To help decrease vibration you might try avoiding coming in perpendicular to the wood, keeping at least a slight angle with each stroke. From the looks of it the blade was almost stopping dead when you were coming in perpendicular, making all that shock come straight back into the handle instead of dissipating into the wood as it was cut. That said that looked like some pretty hard wood, and once you get to a certain hardness there isn't much that's going to save your hands other than a chainsaw.

Last time I checked the site, ordering was still available. Luck:D

You can still order it, but not for long as Dan just said it will be taken off the storefront soon....

But, you can only order right now if you registered before it was posted for sale on the website.

TT, that means your stuck looking on the secondary market unfortunately.:o

for those who wondered. I forgot exactly how I manged to get clearer images out of excell before.... so this ones a bit big and fuzzy.

The tip thickness (right behind the edge is .060" and the belly thickness is .050". The bevel heigth on the tip is 1", making it notably more robust.

This is a basic line drawing of the difference in geometries:

The 1311 is taller than the b11 with a thinner edge. The 1311 ends up at full thickness right at the same point where it becomes the same thickness as the B11, so that the 1311 continues upward at the same thickness while the B11 continues upward to become a full .250" thick at it's spine. Personally I find the 1311 to be a better geometry for cutting, even though the 1311's primary bevels are at a higher angle (so that media spreads apart faster as the knife enters it) the media spreads out significantly less spread apart. You get a better initial insertion to help sink the weight of the knife in.

I was **this** close to letting this one go by, and then I got the dreaded "last chance for forum members to purchase a 1311" email...

I forgot to order 2nd one when they said were gonna shut it down. Still got one coming soon I hope....:what:

Meh, it's just not "pretty" enough for me to place an order even though I can... the Rodent 9 I recently acquired handles most of my chopping needs that don't require a full-size axe, just as my folding Bahco handles the sawing that doesn't require my Husqvarna... So while the price is great, I'm just not rich enough nor skilled enough to get a knife I don't really want/need just to move it along... *shrug*

Anyody want one that lives within driving distance of SC-Wisconsin and can't get one for themselves? Drop me a line, I could proxy that...

I didn't know that you are a member over at the yard.

Oh yeah, the Scrapper 6 was my first nice knife,
I got it after I found it on that ridiculous knife destruction site,
doing "noob" research....

I've learned a lot reading Horn Dog's reviews.

The main edge on mine is set at 21 degrees per side from the factory, and around 36 degrees per side at the tip.

LVC, it's challenging to find this sort of edge geometry information on various custom and production knives. Any interest in taking the time to compile some data for inclusion in a list such as the spec-sheet DWRW keeps on the swamp?

Man I was hoping mine were going to be here last week but still no luck. Mrs Renee said they were ready for shipment and I paid last monday. hopefully they show up in the next few days to help with storm clean up :)

I hate you guys!!!!!!! LOL, I have a empty Azwelke sniper hawk sheath, just ordered 3 1311 sheaths from him also, sadly waiting for the knives/hawk to arrive
