1471 Post Giveaway... We have a winner!. Congrats RetiredGuns!

I'm in. Suppose I'd give one a shot if it were free, if nothing else I'll have something to hack up pig corpses and car hoods should the need arise. My sister lives in NC, and the people sure are nice down there. And the women are tops!

Haha, all of the "I've never owned one but I hate everything about them" is too funny. I can't join the contest but thought I'd add what I love about the South: The Carolinas and Bourbon!!

I'm in. I'm not really a hater or a non-hater. I just don't like their marketing ploys. That and I don't care for back locks, or liner locks, or AUS8, or tantos (mostly because the bevel is geared toward righties). I'm willing to try one, though.

I used to live in Louisiana, so it's easy to figure out what's so good 'bout the South -- the cooking!! I really miss a good crawfish boil, gumbo, etouffee, jambalaya, king cake...

new here in BF..very nice blade..i only have two blades 5.11 cub & SAK picnicker..

i guess what i like the most about south is TACOS!!lol:)

Don't want to hijack a thread, but TACOS got me thinking about something someone (who happens to be a Mexican-American friend of mine) sent me on the ever popular facialbook. LSHMSFOAIDMT = laughing so hard my sombrero fell off and I dropped my taco. :D

Never owned a C.S. knife. As for the South - whenever I visited (which used to be quite often), I always met the nicest of people, sampled some great food and CW music, and being an amateur historian enjoyed loads of Civil War history, monuments, museums, etc.

I have never owned a Cold Steel so I'll give this a shot. I was just in Virginia last weekend (I was informed that it is indeed part of the South) and was very impressed with the beautiful scenery. The green and the semi-"colonial" look was an eye pleaser.

I never owned aCS knife but would be willing to give one a go! I always loved summer nights on Mobile Bay fishing and crabbing w/my dad!

I'd be so happy to win this, I've been wanting to get a Cold Steel but wasn't sure, now I hope I can try it first!

Something I love about the south? Are you kidding, the women of course! :D

I don't have any Cold Steel knives. I must admit, I'm not necessarily a hater, just not a fan. That doesn't mean I will never purchase one ever, just that there are things I would rather purchase before hand. I would definitely give it a fair shake if I did get one though and am open to being proven that there is no reason to not to like CS.

I just did a few reviews on a couple of CRKT knives. I had the same kind of misconceptions about them as well and was quite happy with their knives.

Thanks for the opportunity man!

Gardenia's and Azalea's. Sipping sweet iced tea on a warm summer night. Friendly smiles and the word y'all. Southern fried chicken, blackeyed peas, fried okra and corn bread. :)

I usually just lurk, gather info and enjoy the posts. Your contest has made me very homesick for Charleston and I just had to post. I don't have any Cold Steel but have several on my wish list. Thanks for your post!!!

I'll deff do a review vid and post if I win.
I've lived in SC my whole life... the thing I like most is the people. Down here everyone is really friendly, and where I'm from most people know each other. It really feels like home... and the sweet tea is one of a kind!

This is an awesome idea for a giveaway. I'll admit, at this time I would be hesitant about buying a cold steel. Not because I don't like them. I've just never owned one and have never handled one. It seems like the reviews of a lot of their stuff is quite a mixed bag. I like the idea of getting a review back from someone who's never owned a cold steel.

And I love me some southern cooking. Thanks for the opportunity!

Very cool idea for a give away. I don't know if I qualify because I have a Cold Steel FGX Boot knife (the plastic one). It's obviously not a knife to be used, so I have no experience with Cold Steel and would love to try this knife.

Speaking of the south (south relative to what?), I lived in Venezuela for a year when I was younger. I loved going to hike up the Cerro del Avila on the weekends. On our way down, our reward was a type of limeade called "papelon" from one of the street vendors. It's sweetened with a natural brown sugar called "panela".

Here is Cerro del Avila:

And here is some papelon:

I really like the look of that Cold Steel knife. I've heard both good and bad things about Cold Steel's knives (this goes for most popular knife manufactures) , but to be honest, I don't have an informed opinion of Cold Steel knives at all. I've never even actually held one in my hand.

I've lived in the mountains of North Carolina mu entire life. There's just something about the people here and of course, the scenery is breathtaking especially along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

im the 6th generation of my family to be born in Houston, TEXAS. and I love everything about my great state. the football, the food, the guns, the people(well some of them). so im just going to sum it all up and say what i love the most about the south is TEXAS.

On the topic if Cold Steel and That knife, I dont dislike cold steel in any way but at the same i just havent had the chance to buy one yet im in college so my knife budget is basically 0 :( but recon 1 tanto is on my wish list.. one day i will buy it.

In for sure....

born and raised in sunny south florida, currently living in southern virginia...

never forget those humid summer days, then just when you think you can't deal with it, afternoon thunderstorm rolls in, sucks some of the moisture out the air and you get some relief, cool air for a spell.

South florida is strange, your in the south, but your not really in the "south." Where I was born it's a melting pot. The Caribbean is represented, along with a good portion of south and central america, along with snow birds, and a strange contingency of puerto ricans that actually came from new york, for some reason I was always scared of them. Anyways, thanks for the chance, don't own any Cold Steel, Yet. :)
