I think they make a great knife. Very nice designs and the handles fit my hand well. Materials seem to be top notch too. I don't care for their business model of pay now and wait an undetermined amount of time to receive said knife.

I agree. I just ordered a knife from them. First time ordering from them. I can't believe people are still waiting on orders placed in 2015. That is unbelievable to me!!!

Unbelievable to you and you ordered one?
How long till you get the knife?

I have 4 Survive knives and they are all great knives for the money.
The longest I waited was 8 months for the necker.

They always deliver but it can be a wait, so for someone who isn't patient I suggest some other knife company.

Good quality, limited supply, and extensive wait times. Some people like to hype them up. I think they are decent, but they are not worth the hassle of preordering one.

I had no idea they were asking people to pay and then wait til the cows came home. Are they growing the business? I would never, ever, wait that long for a knife, but, that's just me. I guess if everybody felt the way I do, Survive might go broke?

Ironically, I do have a 4.1 second, that I've had for awhile and I didn't have to wait no time at all on.

Their knives are exceedingly boring, their "business model" is highly suspicious, I wouldn't trust a word they say, and their fans are completely brainwashed zealots. That's what I think!

Sums up my opinion. I feel like all of their knives look the same and their designs lack innovation.

Add in the scam-factor and I wouldn't touch one with a 10' pole.

I've had four of Guy's wonderful blades; in M390 and CPM-3V. I sold one; gifted two to family and still have a nib 3v in 3.5"...which is a keeper for sure. I've only had to wait several extra wks on the last one, probably since mine were all early purchases while Guy was still in Gettysburg... I'm primed to prefer 3v, ever since I saw Guy's early YT video where he is using a 5-lb still sledge to baton his 3V blade through thick branches without any visible damage or marring to the blade. Amazing stuff.

the type of 3v Survive uses was developed with two other knifemakers who treat their customers admirably to say the least. If you want the performance, go with either of them instead of Survive

Survive Knives products; I really think the GSO 4.1 is near perfection for me. Survive Knives the company; I understand the frustration voiced by some. Wait time is a buzzkill but I am getting a GSO 4.7 in the future. I hope it will be worth the wait.
I don't think anyone has been denied a refund. One member here even got one for free and felt guilty and sent Guy full payment after. YMMV

Yeah I have a few from the other makers you are talking about. They are also priced well and perform fantastically!! I actually have one more light chopper on the way, it will be nice to have a backup. I use my light chopper almost every day.
The only reason I ordered a Survive! knife is I wanted a good knife between 7-8 inches, and I got a factory 2nd, so it was cheaper and the wait is not as long, so I hear. We will see... Plus, you gotta try all the knives you can to see what you like. If you stick with just one brand/maker, you are really limiting yourself to all the great things people come up with.

My policy is to never take money up front except for exotic materials or designs that nobody else would be dumb enough to buy. The latter I generally avoid by not making such designs. When you get to the point where you have sold over 10,000 knives, you are a production company and you should have your supply chain, etc figured out to the point where you are not borrowing capital interest free from your customers in order fund manufacturing. Not that this wouldn't be an attractive funding mechanism at some level, but it's just not a very smart one.

A lot of you guys have mentioned exactly why I won't buy one. I could care less about the simplistic design, but as a consumer when I pay for something (unless it's a custom) I would prefer to have it right then and there. This is typically why I don't even order things online. Not sure about the "business model" you guys are talking about but it finalized me ever owning one. I'll stick with others to not be named

The S!K business model reminds me of a Ponzi scheme. But they seem to be trying to do right by most. I'll hold off on looking in their direction until they catch up on their orders...
