Man you got yours already Steve ,I havent even got my confirmation yet:( I have Joe on it though-it'll be ok. I ordered mine Wed night.

My Tuesday order arrived on Friday. Now my Wednesday order is "in process" per the Buck site. I did receive an email confirmation but no shipping conf. yet. I am happy that Buck has their hands full of commerce.

Update, 2nd order: Received shipping conf. today (11-20), pkg is is 25 miles away (Portland, OR), delivery scheduled for Monday. Weeee!

oregon, when did you order yours? I have confirmation but no shipping notification.

I ordered Tuesday. I received the email pitch from Buck and saw the thread speculating on the fact/fiction of the buildout. A gambler and Buck believer so I fired off an order lickity split just ahead of the tidal wave to hit the Buck store.

Yep that's what I got too.I don't know if they send a shipping notification with standard shipping?

Within moments of receiving my shipping notification, and I used standard UPS, I traced it and found that the items were already within walking distance of me and out for delivery! So it is possible that your package is presently sitting in your garage, where I found mine, waiting to be discovered.

got my shipping confirmation w/ date of 29Nov. now can relax knowing they are on the way. hope they look half as good as the ones in your pics.

Very nice photos, thanks for sharing. Actually seeing the knife makes me wish I'd popped for a couple instead of just the one.

oh,very nice! thanks
i really hope to have one or more , especially bos154cm was discontinued at alpha hunter series.

thanks again

I would really enjoy seeing pics of your cutlery when they arrive so we can compare notes. They are all slightly different, these three. Prominance of pins, shaving of scales near the brass bolsters, visibility of "154CM" on the blade and amount of grain visible on the charcoal dymondwood scales.

Thank you for the kind words.

Your cutlery appetite is reserved compared to my, "I want them all", don't get between me and them knives point of view. :D

Some collectors routinely buy several of the same model in order to be able to pick the most perfect to keep and then sell, return, gift or use the rest. Me, once I get a knife I find it difficult to part with. I find myself wondering how the ones I've let go are getting along. Strange huh.

It is my pleasure. I love this stuff. I can't tell you how tickled I am when someone offers pics of their knives. Really.

Everyone should have one of these. That super steel, those black scales and the brass bolsters/liners create quite a visual delight. Rich stuff for the eyes.

yeah i'll look and see if i'm allowed post pics and if so figure out how to do it. as for differences i'll prob pick the "nicer" to set aside..the next 2 "nicer" to keep for my girls and then have a user and backup. just a great value for a user to me and seemed nice looking at that. your pics confirmed that part even though i prefer nickel bolsters in general for looks the brass looks nice on these

+1

I finally got shipping notifications on mine last night. All three orders (15 knives) are due here next Tuesday.

My UPS driver is a really nice young man and he may be the first to get one of the build outs as a gift. He's been so good to make sure all my packages are in out of the weather if I'm not here, much better than the one before. Several weeks ago I gave him one of the Founders Edition 110's and he seemed really excited about it, so I may just add to his collection.

This knife, which of the three has the most visible "154CM" blade imprint, loves the camera.

Nickel Silver is a favorite of mine too. It really highlights the scale, whatever the material, on any 110.

These deep dark Charcoal Dymondwood scales act to highlight the rich lustrous brass bolsters and liners in a wonderful way. I see the brass like never before on a 110 with these black-as-coal scales.

I like nickel with dark colors such as black as coal or buffalo. But that's just me.

Still nice knives.

I got mine when I got home. Just checking my e-mail and I got the shipping confirmation at 1:30am that it had been shipped Thursday via USPS. This is a sweet knife, 110 #9 for me. :)

SO has anyone tried their 154 cm out yet?howzit cut?hows the edge retention?I think i found my new edc.

I have an Alpha folder and a Tempest with 154cm that I've used a lot; particularily the Tempest. You have to remember that 154cm/ATS-34 were the '90s supersteel. Chris Reeves used to use it in his Sebenza back in the day.

I think it is a fantastic blade steel. Very good edge retention but you can sharpen it on a Sharpmaker relatively easily.

I'm sad that 154cm seems to be on the way out at BKI and I lack conviction that the Sandvik steels are NOT a step down from this steel.

I haven't received my shipping notice but I did get my order confirmation so I'm assuming I'll be getting the five 110's I ordered. I'm as happy with these knives as I was with the ATS-34 119's I snagged a couple of years ago.

if they perform like my Alpha folders and Dorados w/ 154cm i'll be more then pleased. i'm generally happy with Buck's 420HC and have a few models in s30v but find the 154cm a great balance in the field of a bit better edge retention then 420HC without being much more difficult to hone or touch up.

i am also sad if 154cm is going away. love that steel on my alphas.
