1911

Well we are in the Busse forum now aren't we Uncle:D Both:thumbup:

I just get in these gun moods from time to time. I really don't need another one. You know how it goes. Really my LB and the range time spent being able to shoot it well along with a 7 round clip of Black Talons is all I need.

Oh, to be addicted to guns and knives:barf:

What is the smallest 1911 platform? ie smallest for CC?

What about the best CC H&K's?

Lets hear your thoughts?

Springfield Armory EMP. Here is mine, wearing AlumaGrips:

The Detonics CombatMaster is also quite compact, perhaps more so than the EMP:

That would be the HK P2000 SK:

It depends what you're wearing and your frame.

I can IWB a full size USP with an untucked button up shirt. But I could only afford the HK at the time and had to make due with what I had. Just make
sure to wear a good gun belt and a couple of mags to distribute to weight evenly.

1911s conceal much better than a double stack.

In a .45, the compact HK45 should be pretty decent. The P2000 series is smaller than a G19 but larger than a G26. I haven't played with the sub compacts much.

Here is my Colt Officers Model, did all the gunsmithing myself.

And my Colt Government Model Series 70. Wife bought it as a wedding present for me 26 years ago!

So that tells me a Colt CC with 70 serial number is not really a "70 series gun" because of the solid bushing it retains. That is good to know:D

Repeat after me: "There is no such thing as a Series 70 Commander."

Just pre-series 80.

I can't believe I don't have any pics of my TRS!

Oh, well, this Colt over Caspian will have to do:

There are some nice 1911s in this thread.
Here is my 1911 I built from parts from Fusion Firearms.

Can't call it my favorite because it's the newest one in the collection and I haven't put many rounds through it, ~600. But it's the one I'd bring out for show and tell. With a Benchmade Rift.

The smallest .45 acp is this one... a Wilson Combat Sentinel.

It's remarkably accurate, and stone cold reliable... even in the severely cut 1911 platform.

It is still made, but only in 9mm.

I have always loved the classic look and the feel of the 1911. Finally things fell into place and I traded for a Sig GSR 1911. Man, this pistol is great. I shot 150 rounds of Seller & Bellot 230 grain rounds through the GSR and she performed flawlessly. I also shot several mags of the same ammo through my Glock 21 the same day at the range. The G21 had groups of about 8" at 30 feet. The GSR shot groups of 3" at 30'! Now I am looking for a deal on a Kimber.

Tomthebaker - is that real ivory? Looks nice.

Heyday - that looks good, was it a lot of work?

Chickenfried - that is a cool pair!

Gator - I have NOTHING against Kimber but u might want to look at LB. My buddy just got his kimber and he has shot my LB a good bit. He waited 6 months for his Kimber and he is dissapointed with it in comparison. He likes it and it shoots great he just said it doesn't feel like it is in the same league.

Just something to think about. Like I said I like Kimber so I am not saying this with any bias.

This is a pretty decent Les Baer! Check out the Serial #!
