1st Friday Production Updates

You might want to check out the thread: Time to your door/post 223. I would definitely give them a call. (Last Paragraph)

I think post 223 is about 5's, right?

I dug a little deeper, take a look here at post #186 and 187.

I'm surprised the 4.1's are not all out yet. They have not been mentioned in awhile so I really assumed they were delivered and ancient history. Hopefully Ellie or Guy will check in here sooner or later and set us straight. This seems to me like an exceptional situation, hopefully with an easy solution for all involved!

Not Entirely. Ellie makes mention of a sharpening issue with 3.5's and 4.1's, in which some of them were scrapped half way through the process. It's possible that some people may not have received there orders due to this issue.

I think you're correct bud. The 4.1 I have apparently had to be re-tumbled because the finish was rough and the logo is there but it's not as dark as the earlier ones (not any issue in my eyes). My friend Robert purchased it on 5/16 but he wanted a non-gimped version so I traded him.

I didn't read it that way at first, but I see it now!

I got my email when I finally got cell service. I called home to let momma know I was OK and some how I erased the production update. Good thing this is here.

Noticed the old style 4.1 I'm still waiting on (April 29th) is no longer even included in the update. I get the reasons for the delays, but I ordered when all options were available etc...

All of the old spec GSO-4.1s shipped out a few weeks ago, as far as we knew. There is definitely a mix-up somewhere and we need to find your order. Shoot us an email to Info@SurviveKnives.com, if you haven't done so already. If you have sent an email already, you will hear back from me in the next few days.

We are back in Idaho and there are no more weddings or reunions planned for the year, so we will be getting back in to a good routine. I am very behind on emails because I was the maid of honor for this last one, which kept me pretty busy. After printing some shipping labels, my main focus for the rest of this week will be getting caught up with voicemail and emails.

Thanks for the reply Ellie. Email sent. I even managed to refrain from sarcasm... I think. Waited something like a year just to have the opportunity to place this order. Then this happens. While I'm sure this will be taken care of, the profanities are flowing like poetry in my mind as I type :confused::grumpy::D

Thacker S! Has excellent customer service I'm sure it will be handled appropriately. We'd all love to see it once you receive it. Hope your conundrum is fixed soon.

I'm sure they'll make it right. Since that was the last batch of those 4.1s, I'm more than a little concerned that it may not be possible to get the exact knife I ordered. Not much I can do but keep waiting though...

Edit:

I won't be getting the knife that I ordered. They have offered me several alternatives to consider and I'm not sure whether to accept one or just request a refund. Stuff happens. After the amount of time I have invested in trying to obtain this knife (as ordered) directly from Survive, I believe I am done here.

I don't see the hats on the site yet? What's up with that?

:p

All kidding aside, thank you for the update. The level of transparency that you and Guy provide is both unprecedented and greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work! I look forward to continuing to buy more Survive! Knives.

I meant to do this newsletter on Wednesday so it would be ready to go out first thing today. Unfortunately, things got busy that day and it slipped my mind until this morning when Guy mentioned Ni1s' comment about it. There were a couple four letter words, but as soon as I started typing I was reminded of all the fun things going on in November. I've said it before, I cannot wait for you folks to start getting your GSO-5.1 orders. We are SO looking forward to the photos, reviews, and general feedback for this new production.

Hehe, glad to be of service! Hope it didn't ruin your breakfast. :)

I'm so excited that more people to get their hands on the new finish soon! Then I can pull the trigger on another 5.1 too (and I hope Guy made more of those natural linen micarta handles...) :)
