1st knive on the Edge Pro Apex

Another tip is to make a note of what angle each knife is sharpened at and record it some place. This will save a lot of time when you go to touch up.

I was considering that, but for a perfect match wouldn't you also need a way to index the clip guide? You'd probably set it about the same each time but you'd need it to be dead-on to insure the angle was identical to the last time.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I got an Apex, also. Unpacked it and proceeded to sharpen everything in sight. :D I knew this was a good setup, but the quality of the thing still surprised me. Other than for the odd quick touchup, this is the go-to sharpener for me. I'm a simple idiot and I can put a scary edge on a blade pretty easily now.

Glad to see you like it. I haven't used mine in a couple weeks. Sadly (;)) there's nothing dull in the house, except maybe me!:D I've run outta stuff to sharpen.

Try a few can lids, just for fun. There is a link around here somewhere with a guy prepping chicken using a can lid sharpened on crock sticks.

You guys are hopeless... I love it! :D Kind of sitting around waiting for someone to dull one so you can set it right... Sounds like an addiction!

I sharpened both sides of a fork earlier...

Am I ok?

Is this normal?

Do all Edge Pro users do this at first?

:confused::confused:

When my dad gets a new sharpener he sharpens butter knives! 'Til mom cuts hereself on one of 'em and gets pissed off!:p

O boy, got my edgepro yesterday. Sharpend a few knives in the I don't care much category to get used to the machine.

I'm getting the hang of it. Just ended sharpening my Caly 3 ZDP ending with the polishing tapes. Now it's sharper then I got it out of the box. Scary scary. Needed the first bandage already, it bit me!! My WH Titan will be soon next!!

I know I'm gone love this machine. Reshaping is a breaze, scary sharp takes 10 minutes longer.

I think this is the last sharpening instrument I have to buy!!

This fellow, (I'm sorry, but his name slips my mind - "crs" :) ), is a member here. He was very patient with my questions, and was willing to give me a decent deal. He sells them as cheap, or cheaper, than the maker.

I got my Apex last week, also from 1SharpKnife. I always got pretty fair results with a freehand stone and a crock stick set up. But now, I can get my knives way sharper then I ever could before. Not only are they scary sharp, but the edge "looks" awesome as well. A real professional looking result. Needless to say, I am a very satisfied customer.

as a guy that collects waterstones, I applaud and cheer any doodlebug that REALLY WORKS, and me ignorant as mud of the EdgePro, but squinchy cheap and happy happy happy ya'll found something that isn't fancy waterstones from mines that closed down in 1943..

can't HURT to have a good EASY way to do it, everybody wins. :) No sarcasm, I'm glad for ya, lots.

lemme go check my auctions again.. ;)

If you're really careful, the 3000 tapes polishes women's fingernails nicely.
