I was reading about the glass blanks at "another knife forum." I'll have to check 'em out when I get the chance.

a way to index the clip guide?

When you get into exact replication you then need to know your stone height for each stone you are going to use, your polish tape heights, stone arm pivot height, blade guide table distance. All these have a bearing on what you're doing for replication.

Easiest way is to record the guide table distance and the angle guide you sharpened at. Then colour the bevel with marker and match the angle. The variations in stone height do make a difference and is why you may have to colour and match the angle again when you change stones.

There is an excellent post on another sharpening forum that explains how to dial in your Edge Pro. Yes it does work. One does have to have the temperament to use it. Be precise and be patient.

I think it'd be easier to just reset it each time as opposed to attempting to painstakingly record where you had everything. Especially since I'm not sure you're going to do it accurately enough to really be identical.

That's what I do - I just use the sharpie method to find the right angle, usually 2 or 3 strokes and I'm dialed in.

After 2 weeks: I love this device! And still learning.

Fast easy and beyond sharp, great looking edges!!

My ZDP WH 15 and Caly are sharper then sharp. I don't dare to look at the edge, afraid I get hurt by looking at it!
