2 questions what led u to Beker knives and what led u to the BK&T forum?

I really knew nothing of becker. I went to my local army navy store and saw the bk11. fell in love with it and picked it up. Its been on my belt almost everyday since. I got home and decided to do some looking and found out the knife was really popular and had a huge following. Went looking for another . FOund a bk2 at a local mall store and he wanted 110 !! bucks for it. I almost bought it cause i didnt know better. Then i did some looking online and found the forums. Since then this site as a whole has opened my eyes to so many great knives. Ive learned so much here, and have got to use so many knives i would have never even knew existed. So thank you everyone. This is a great site and community.

well, my grandfathers and my father love(d) the outdoors, guns, knives, hunting, fishing, etc. And that love has been passed on to me. where i started out mall tacti-cool but refined my tastes and likes as most of us do by learning more and using our knives. honestly i don't remember what got me into beckers i think this forum did. i remember seeing this forum on blade magazine for a while but never got around to signing up. then one day i decided to sign up to the forums and wow i learned so much in so little time!!! cant wait to learn some more! i have the eskabar which i love and will probably get the necker and the bk7 or 9 or all of em who knows.

oh and fun fact of the day! my dad has the camillus companion and i think the bk7&bk9. the 7 and 9 all brand new the companion is very slightly used. i plan on checking em out and holding a piece of becker and knife history!

I bought a BK11 and was looking for cord wrap ideas... wandered in here one day, someone offered me some black koolaid, That was some good stuff :)

1- I was on the ship headed towards Iraq when a buddy told me he had a friend in his platoon that was looking to unload some of his knives before we landed. When I met up with him later that day all the guy had left was a very used BK4(Machax). I wanted it instantly. We made a deal $80 for it after we got back, but it was mine to carry the whole tour, with payment being made as soon as we got back to the states.

2-I was googling "Machax" for a replacement since I sold mine(dumb, I know) as soon as I got done with the tour. My search brought me here, a little while later I became a member.

I used this new fangled intra net thing & started looking at HD knives. When i did, i came across BK&T BK2. I researched it to death & during the course of said research i ran across this forum.

My first Becker was a Becker Necker handed to me by Ethan himself "On the Hill", that is PWYP.About 10 years ago +/-.:D. I belive that was pre-forum days.. Picked up a Bk 9 then as well. The collection has been growing since. My wife seems to be fond of them as well.. Just waiting on my Bk 7 to return home. JRE needed one for a model for making a leather sheaths for them. Landy

I was able to get a BK2 from Amazon for a good price and started looking around for some new replacement handles. All trails pointed here.

Flat out pound for pound value in the sense of durability and reliability, knowing they can dish out and handle lots is something which every prospective owner should expect from their arsenal rather than some lanky or newer doodad which might look purdy while being short lived in terms of value/dependability let alone longevity.

Thats what makes em so great and a "Must" have not to mention but will that they look awesome to boot!

Btw nice meeting everyone :)
Joe.

P.S. As per why this forum I think its pretty self explanatory that it is an awesome place in general where tons of common sense and really good judgement in terms of knives reside and that pretty much says it all.

I was researching survival techniques, and paelolithic skills... Came across the Wilderness Survival section here, and started branching off a bit, eventually stumbling across the forums here. Never heard of Becker before, but I quickly realized that when it was time to buy a knife, it was going to be a Becker. Now have a 14 and a 7, and I think I'm developing an addiction. I know I'll be getting a 2 and a 9 in the future, and keeping my eyes open for a machax. Damn you guys! And I don't even have a BH# yet! Lol. Used to think I could get by with one good knife, boy was i wrong lol.

Bought a Kabar tanto, thought it was bad ass, and since I was in the market for some choppers, I went to see if Kabar offered any choppers. Saw the Kabar kukri and the 9, and researched to see if they were any good. Stumbled upon this place, saw the potential of the blades, and made the purchase. Started posting a few weeks later, and joined in on the fun.

Downhill from there, my wallet be a lot lighter nowadays ;)

I don't even like Becker knives, I just like STALKING Moose....

I don't even like Becker knives, I just like stocking Moose....

Hahaha, stalking. Stocking is what the guys at Walmart are doing when they put groceries on the shelves. Lol.

I too was looking for ways to do a cords wrap for my BK11, after I found my info I was sucked into the black hole.
