20$ Buck 110's

The ones for sale at our Wal Mart here are not the new ones with the new edge technology on the blade. You can see right away they are not near as sharp as the new ones being sold at KMart. I got mine at Kmart in the clear vacuum pack. The ones at wally world in the yellow box were obviously old stock.

Any idea what the date codes on the old stock was?

As I recall they were the 01 and 02 models. I know the first two I looked at had the anvil on the blade tang. The third one had the upside down U so I am going by memory but I think the dates are correct. I thought Buck started doing the new improved edge angle before these dates but maybe not. These didn't have it for sure and were in fact quite dull by comparison to the one I bought at K-Mart.
The only other difference between the WalMart knives vs the Kmart ones was how they were packed. The ones in the yellow boxes at Wal mart just weren't sharpened as well as the ones in the blisterpacks or whatever they are called. Both had nylon sheaths and looked the same otherwise.

Currently, Dick's Sporting Goods have them for $30.00 plus a $10.00 rebate from Buck. That equals $20.00. :)

I didn't see that ad. Can you tell me when that sale ends? I missed out last time.

mp,

The rebate coupon says, " Limit 2 per household. Must be postmarked by Jan. 31, 2007. Only valid on purchases made between Oct. 15, 2006 - Dec. 31, 2006."

Perhaps some Dick's stores didn't put the rebate coupons out for display until on or after Oct. 15th.

Today, I'm going to return/repurchase mine.

Sounds good. Probably just missed the ad materials:rolleyes: I'll need to pay more attention, and get one of those;)

Wait mp!

Yesterday, I took my 110 back to Dick's to return/repurchase it and when the cashier rang it up, the knife was $40.00. She said the knife wasn't on sale anymore, but she would resell it to me for $30.00.

So, if you go to Dick's today, it will be $40.00 minus the $10.00 rebate.

Sorry!

TAH,
Dick's still has them online for $29.99 (Go figure:rolleyes: ) Are the rebate forms still good if I buy the knife online, from Dicks Sporting Goods? FYI, shipping is free until 30 DEC 06.

I'm also going to pay attention to the local store. Dick's has a good habit of repeating sales. Maybe it'll be back in a couple weeks Last year, I missed this sale:mad:, too. $29.99 is the everyday price at Wal-Mart, so I'm not to get gitty for going through extra effort to pay that same price. I'm not into much of a rush.

My buddy "Ira Wood" has some for $27.99 or ten for $260.00 ($26 each for those that don't do chinese math).
.

But Goose Do You Really Need Ten Of The Exact Same Knife ?
I Guess They Would Be Good For Those That Rescale Or Reblade Them Though

Those are the three here on the desk. I have a Wally Tin and prob just a couple more around that I've cut things with...but I know I got more Idaho's than I got under shorts and wonder "why?".

I ponder your question as I sit here looking at three 110 Idaho knives on my desk that have never cut a thing.

I'm outta control. I'm a junkie. Pray for me.
.

Only 3!!!!
Maybe I need an exorcism... Please pray for me also :D

Still have 2 of the Wally tins stashed away from last year---still sealed in the plastic and all.

I have three sardine can 110's still shrink-wrapped here...I had four, but I sent one in to Buck for a blade upgrade 25 days ago... :D :p

I printed off the 110 page off the Dick's website, took it into a local Dick's store, and they honored the website price of $29.99. Less the $10 rebate, ends up costing $19.99.
