2007 Blade Show Cutting Competition- Why no Busse?

Busse applies a conservative edge geometry in order to reduce returns, and reprofiling voids the warranty nominally though not necessarily in practice (reference, particularly post #74).
That's such a crock of crap, and here we have another 5 post troll :jerkit:

You and Sam Salvati must hail from the same lavatory.

Wallowing in your own ignorance doesn't lend you any credibility.

After that, this makes that much more sense.

Again, what knife did you have???

Reprofiling does NOT void the warranty, where the heck did you see that??????

He is confused.

Here is the deal. If you reprofile the edge of the knife to be more of a slicer (or whatever you have in mind) that will not void the warranty.

But if you grind on the blade and change the profile of the entire blade, like removing the CBTs on the FBM, then you do void it becuse Busse can not be assured that the heat treat was not affected by this.

I am not going to generate enough heat with my Apex Edge Pro, diamond files, sand paper and mouse pad, etc... to hurt the heat treat. But a belt sander is another story.

As far as factory edge goes: Jerry's knives come with an edge that cuts well, chops well, and is very strong. Sure you can thin it out to slice better but then you give up a little in strength. And I mean a little. So the factory edge (with few exceptions) is not designed to be the ultimate slicer. Busee Combat does not make competition slicers. Many other awesome makers make thick knives as well. And they cut pretty darn good as well.

Come on now guys, these knives are really not as great as you all freak out about them to be. don't get me wrong GREAT campknife, almost as good as a hatchet.

Man I hate it when my questions aren't answered. Must be to rhetorical I suppose.

What Busse did you try and didn't like Sam?

I hereby retract any statements to the otherwise.

MC, i don't remember the exact model there is so many variations and stuff, but i'll find out. It was like the handle profile was ground for someone with fingers 2 inches round.

Busse's are over-rated!! If someone sent me one, I'd send it right back!! Please send the Badger Attack.

I have no idea why Mr. Busse would have to make his knives to someone else's standards for a test that is obviously designed for a knife made to pass that test.

Mr. Busse designs his knives to his standards and they pass his tests.

He has a very loyal following of both collectors and users and his knives seem to please all of these people.

If I were Mr. Busse I would not even think of making a knife to meet someone else's standards.

It would be pointless.

I should have made more clear, not NOT a fan of the Busse knives, just not a fan of blind willful kool aid heads. Next thing you know you will hear news report of people going into spyderco and kershaw and Buck factories and blowing up they're dynamite vests screaming "death to the infidels!". Exhibit A.

[plonk]

Welcome to my killfile.

Nitwit

It's great to be a fan, it's great to be a collector, but when you turn into a nut job that is just stupidity.:jerkit::jerkit::jerkit::jerkit:

hickoryPhonebook.jpg

So what are we testing with the phonebooks again?

... the plot thickens. ;)

But that is a NY phonebook so it doesn't really count. :D

or did that lil' Dozier(?) do the dirty deed and the Old Hickory take the credit? :)

Busse AK47 on my wife's MSAT book...

But don't let her know. ;)

Again, not the sharpest but I have some decent clips showing its flex and some prying. My point, again, is that my knives are sharp enough. ;)

:D - for some reason I can totally picture you trying to be nice and quiet behind that closed door. "Hold on honey, I'm just finishing my workout!"

non sequitor. how do you draw these conclusions?

these statements have nothing to do with anything that has been brought up.

you are simply turning this in to a personal attack because you cant think of anything better to post.

you've been an ass in every post you have made in this thread. your attacks from the beginning have been obvious and your bias even more so.

wtf is wrong with you?
