2007 tins still around?

they sold for $30 in Walmart ( the only place that had them) in the 2007 Christmas season. They went down to $26 on the Walmart Web site nad less in some stores. I guess the $20 he is selling them for is only 33% off, but they are not around anywhere else.....

Still seems to me like a spectacular deal.

It is. It won't be long until they will bring $35 or more.

:D They already do sometimes. I sold one to a guy at work (didn't like him all that much) for $50. I showed him a BIN on Ebay for the same knife at $49.99 + Shipping. He jumped on it for $50 even.

I gave a few away to guys on my crew.

Thanks fritz... I got one... :D ... I think $20 is a great deal... A good old 110 is $28.98 at WM now... ....

They seem not to be moving as fast on Amazon as he sold out in a few days on Ebay.....I got 11 of them from him in the last two weeks. Ebay had free shipping, but his shipping cost are low either way....Great knives !!

I had to buy five of those...to good a deal.
I've got a fair amount of nice Ironwood that needs a new home.:)

Well I thought I got the last seven. I received the package today and it only had one knife in it and a bill showing a charge for seven. I wondered why UPS tracking showed the package weighing only 2 lbs. Now I know. I hope it gets straighten out without a hassle.

mater, less us know how you make out !!!! I ordered from him twice this time ( One Ebay and One Amamzon) and Twice a few months back, and he was great each time back then !!!

Tom, I sent him an email so I am waiting on a response. I will let you know how it turns out. The other time I bought some of these from here I didn't have a problem.

mater, hear anything back yet?
No I haven't Tom. I sent him an email Thursday about 6PM EDT. I called Amazon and they said to give him 2 to 3 days to respond. It has only been 2 days and a holiday weekend also so I will wait until Monday afternoon for him to respond before contacting them again. I don't understand why they didn't change the bill when they packed the knife. There was no note or anything explaining why the other 6 knives were not in there. I may have to send a picture of the box with the knife in it as proof or something. As a last resort I will contact my CC.

I am not sure but I think they ship from a few locations. Perhaps they other six are in Transit still? Keep us posted!

Got mine on Friday. What type of wood laminate is on these-looks cool.
Did anyone ever answer the question how to remove the signature-mine doesnt seem to be etched but printed. At least I cant feel any etching,

The etch can be removed by buffing. I used tripoli, blending, yellow rouge and finish with green. You need to do both sides to ensure the "texture" looks the same when finished and the etch goes fairly deep on some of the knives.

The 2nd way I remove them is faster - I use a 600 grit, 7 1/2 inch diameter wet diamond wheel to remove about 90% of the etch and then buff out the rest. I find that matches the factory "texture" better but I dont think you can do it by hand as the "grain" would run the wrong way if you sand the length of the knife rather than just in the concave area of the etch across the blade as I can with the diamond sanding wheels.

Joe Houser has stated in previous threads that Buck uses a 3M ScotchBrite wheel on the mfg line to give the blades that "brushed" look...The drawback is that they run ~$45 each for a 1" x 6" wheel... :(
