2007 tins still around?

I guess ole Al Buck will continue to grace the blade-sounds like either procedure would give me ample opportunity to really screw it up:eek:

I am not sure but I think they ship from a few locations. Perhaps they other six are in Transit still? Keep us posted!
I hadn't heard from them this afternoon so I called Amazon. I had to file a claim. About 10 minutes later WBD sent me an email and said they was closed Friday and hadn't read my email to them. They apologized for the shortage and offered to send me 6 more knives or refund my money. I emailed them and said I had rather have the knives than a refund. He said Amazon would send me an email confirming it. Since I filed a claim with Amazon it will have to go thru them. Guess I should have waited a couple more days before calling Amazon.

The etch can be removed by buffing. I used tripoli, blending, yellow rouge and finish with green. You need to do both sides to ensure the "texture" looks the same when finished and the etch goes fairly deep on some of the knives.

The 2nd way I remove them is faster - I use a 600 grit, 7 1/2 inch diameter wet diamond wheel to remove about 90% of the etch and then buff out the rest. I find that matches the factory "texture" better but I dont think you can do it by hand as the "grain" would run the wrong way if you sand the length of the knife rather than just in the concave area of the etch across the blade as I can with the diamond sanding wheels.
Thanks for the tip.

mater sounds good. It seems like they might still have more of them hidden away??

I got mine yesterday (Wednesday)... I should have got two of them... One for each hand... :D ... I haven't open it up yet, the tin box was bent up a little... Maybe this weekend, I'll let it out of its tin box...

Well, PlumDave kept talking about these knives for $20 buck and I kept thinking a mirror finished 110 for $20 and in a tin too. Well my five got here couple of days ago and I finially looked at them today. They are nice knives. I've got a bunch of interesting wood scale that needs a home...kind of exciting really.

They may have more. Amazon went ahead and refunded my money and the guy at WBD emailed me and apologized for the mistake. I asked if I could still get the other six and he sent me an invoice for them. They were shipped today.

I just saw them again and more than 100!! Where the heck is he getting them???? He is selling for $10 less than Walmart did, so he is making money on a limited run and beating Walmart?!?! I may get a few more myself......

I asked him if they had anymore and I just received an email asking how many I was looking for. He didn't mention those he had listed again.

When wally world had them, I had the girl lay them out so I could look at the scale. I did find one with a knot and bought it. It is still in the plastic so I doubt I could get a good picture of it.

mater, I don't get how there could be so many left overs from a Walmart run almost two years old, and he is of course making money on them at the $19.99 selling price....oh well, I think I have my fill of them ( at least till I get that can't resist the deal feeling again....)

Finally, one of my mini Grails!

I managed to score one (supposedly the last one) off of Amazon last night!
My new 110 in collector's tin is estimated to get to Rooville on Wednesday.
2 years of searching and determination paid off!

I just got 3 more yesterday for some friends... I was showing them the one I got, and they really like it and wanted one... Well, anyway I have 3 more coming for them...
