2008 Knifemakers Christmas Gift Exchange! (2nd Annual)

That is a GREAT idea. Instead of just sending you a few pictures we can all send you a .doc document with html text already in it (as simple as copying and pasting from BF instead of hitting the "Summit replay" button) so you just need to copy it whole and paste it into the thread. That would save you a lot of work and make things look better ;).

Mikel

I prefer .jpg photos actually. You can send larger size photos and I'll resize them to fit within BF guidelines.

Sure, no problem. I was thinking about uploading them myself to Imageshack in the usual 800x600 size and then sending you the whole html thing with the writting and all, but just the pictures should work fine.

Mmmmm I can't wait to start working on them! BTW, I am from Spain so if you preffer to save on postage, just send me an email with my targets info!

Scott,
Mike has a good point there. Mailing everyone is going to add up in postage.
Email is at least free and a little more reliable than USPS.
Either way, if I can help offset your expenses, I would be glad to. Just send me your Paypal address and I'll be more than happy to make a donation to the cause. I owe you big time for this exchange anyway. It was the spark I needed to get going. Thanks.
Cliff

wait you're actually mailing us a letter?

Seems like last year his wife had to send a bunch of emails and it took her a lot of time. He intended to send ordinary letters to each and everyone of us.

I would also like to cooperate here so just as Radius said, if you give us your PayPal address we could drop a few $ in there.

Mikel

I was planning on mailing them by USPS, which is what I did last year. If I email them, then I'll know who I have and who has me and who everyone has. If I mail them out, my wife can keep me in the dark, but has the list if any questions arise.

I will not ask my wife to type up and send out 80+ emails. I want to stay married to her.

This way, she only has to draw the letters out of a hat, look at it as she stuffs it into an addressed envelope and write the name down on a checklist that I will have created.

Please don't worry about the postage $$$. It's not that expensive and allows me to give back to this forum and all of you, which have done so much for me.

Scott. Give us your paypall account -_-

I have some pocket change kicking around in a paypal acount and nothing to do with it. If you don't give me your account I will send it to Greenpeace, Peta, or Al Qaeda.

I discussed this with my wife this morning. She said she'd be glad to email all of the information. She is a peach!!!

After you get your email from her, send her a thank you if you would please.

Of course I will be happy to send her a thanks. In the meantime give her a kiss and a pat on the butt for me:)

Thanks

Be patient. She's doing them in her spare time. It may take her a few days to work through all of the names on the list (81 to be exact).

Dont get me wrong,,,its not impatience,,, just childlike anticipation,,,lol.

Thanks to you and your lovely wife.

Man this is gonna' be great! I haven't even started my project yet. (I'm waiting to find out who it's going to, hopefully a more tailored fit) Still, give your bride a huge thanks from me. I will wait patiently......take your time but Hurry Up!:D

Nope, let me illustrate with another one of my hobbies...

In Cryptography, there is something called a shifted cypher. The alphabet has 26 letters, but it would work if it had an odd number too. Below we have 27 characters when we add the # sign.

ABCDE FGHI J KLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ#
NOPQRSTUVWXYZ#ABCDEFGH I J KLM

So, in this example letter "M" on the top row will send a knife to "Z" on the bottom row,
"Z" will send a knife to "L", "L" will send a knife to "Y" and so on...
Also, these don't have to be in order either. :D

Ok, Hope that helped.

BTY you just learned a simple form of Cryptography too. :p
Sorry about the spaces between some of the letters, they wouldn't line up well.
