I am excited! I wonder what kind of knife I will get? I will try to ship my knife to get there a little before Christmas.

This is going to be fun... I can tell you that! As soon as any of us has his knife finished we could start a PICTURES ONLY thread with the knifes we are making (not telling who is going to recive it, of course!). I plan to open a new thread for my own knife showing the whole process from start to finish.

The only issue that I have for that is that if I get a package from Redrummd for example, then I'll know what it is before I open it. Not that I'll wait anyhow, but you know what I'm saying :)

Oh crap! I just remembered that this knife was supposed to be open in Christmas... I was about to tell you if you were too worried about openning a package a split second after noticing who it comes from! My bad.

Maybe we can keep working on our post in a .doc document and post them whole right after Christmas... maybe thats sounds better, doesn't it?

we have a strange christmas season what with the household celebrating 3 holidays right then. 4 if you count the common calendar new year and 5 if you count twelfth night. (even more if you are my son- he gets the twelve trolls on top of the rest.) So I figure I'll just open one of the days when it seems right and I'm popping a bottle of mead.

We've given up on the actual day of and just party and give each other random things for about a month.
 
I liked how last year people posted how there knives where coming along. it kinda uped the excytment.
 
well, I ain't even starting until I get past my brother in law's wedding and get a couple orders out the door. then again, I'm not even sure what I'm doing yet. I'm pondering a through tang short leuku style with fiddleback myrtle. But I run on inspiration, so who knows!
 
The packages won't be coming with our on line handles as the names on the return address so someone would need to spend some time still trying to figure out who sent it and what it actually is.... Heck I could be really tough and use one of my daughter's return address........... hmmm... I think I will.... :p

Or.....You could email me photos and I'll post them in a photo thread, that is completely anonymous as to who the maker was. That way you can drool over the knives, not knowing who made it.

The list has been added to. Michael Spangler had expressed interest, but hadn't sent his email contact information, so is now added to our group. Jeff Calvin had told me on the phone that he wanted in, but I forgot to put him on the list. We're at 81.

That is a GREAT idea. Instead of just sending you a few pictures we can all send you a .doc document with html text already in it (as simple as copying and pasting from BF instead of hitting the "Summit replay" button) so you just need to copy it whole and paste it into the thread. That would save you a lot of work and make things look better ;).
