Hey Scott, I did recieve the name for who I am suppsed to make a knife for. I recieved the email from your wife on 9/9. I will send you an email so we are on the same page and to avoid confusion. Also, Paul D Smith = Big Smitty.

Did you ever send me an email with your name and shipping address? If you did, I didn't get it. You were one of the ones for the second chance, since your post to this thread came after the original groups names had already been drawn and emailed out with who they were making for. There is a group that will be drawn for a second go around.

Send me an email with your name and shipping address to scottickesknives@gmail.com and you're in on the second chance group.
 
Any in process photos? If you have any, email them to me at scottickesknives@gmail.com. If you do it that way, I'll be able to post your photos anonymously, so that when a person gets their Christmas knife, they won't know what it is ahead of time.

For example, when I saw the return address on my Christmas knife last year, I knew which one it was. I want to keep it much more of a surprise for all of you this year.

I'm across the pond, but as soon as I get back, I'll be working on mine. It's all hardened, just have to sand out, handle and finish :D
 
Work on mine is slow... I hope to get some more pics on my ancient progress thread tomorrow before it becomes an archive post :) I am almost done roughing out the bevels.

If it's anything like the knife you made last year, it's going to be torture waiting for Christmas for all of us. I can't wait to see what you're creative mind came up with this year.
 
I have managed to get mine past the sanding stage 3 times, then I try to install a handle that I like and it doesn't look great, so I remove it and I'm back to the sanding stage again. For a first time knife I sure am getting a lot on experience in the sanding field. When I'm done I think I will have 40 hours in on this.
Isn't knife making grand.

im exited again! i have been away from the forge and BF for a while now, too busy with work and other obligations but after this Saturday, i have five days off to do as i will. and i will be at the forge night and day the whole time :) . one of the many knives i plan to finish will be for someone here! WOOOO! im surprised there haven been as many pictures to tease me as i expected... i should have some in about a week.
