I'm in.
(Spear point and stag would put the frosting on the cake for me,:) but I'm in regardless).

I know I'm new around this sub-forum, but am interested in this knife. I'd like one in whatever configuration it's ordered in.

Thanks,

Dave

I'm in regardless but prefer D2. Bone or Stag is fine with me. Thanks for the work you guys put in.

We will keep this open for a day and let folks talk.

Then we will open up a committal thread in a day or two once we have everything down. The reason that stag was not extra is that we had a person who wishes to stay anonymous express that they might be interested in donating the stag for the project.

As far as my personal pref., I like D2 on a small knife like this. As far as the bolster maybe the initials BFC in old English script and 2009 might foot the bill. I could live with ATS 34, but am not inclined to take the cost of these over 100.00.

I like that we can do the bolster this year and not have stuff on the blade.

On sign up, we will ask preference for Queen or Schatt & Morgan tang stamps and the majority will win. If tang stamp vote is a tie, Steve or I will break it. :D.

Sign up will be in another sticky thread in a couple of days and the goal is to have the cash for the knives into Queen by the first week in May. I will be handling the payments and ship out of the knives and there is a backup in place in case I can not do the job.

All real names/addresses and any other personal information will be kept confidential. I will list forum names and number of knives in the sign up thread and change the name's color when payment arrives.

Anyone is eligible to join in on this for as many knives as they wish as long as payment gets made before the deadline, or we make other arrangements, which I want to keep at a bare minimum since they usually end up being me fronting the money for a while :D. The deadline will be around May 2nd or 3rd. Payments by snail mail, check or MO will work. Paypal will not be an option on this.

Sounds like a plan to me. D2 is fine. Stag or jigged bone works for me.

Nice work fellas. Thanks for your efforts.

I like the ATS-34 option and would pay more for it.

I prefer bone much more than stag because imo stag is very hard to do right. Most of the time it just doesn't pass inspection. But it's not a deal breaker if the handle is done in stag.

Jigged bone, D2, do not care about serial #. I am in no matter what the final is. Thanks for all the hard work here. It is appreciated....

I would prefer stag. But it would really depend on the quality and workmenship of the stag scales. How is Queen at doing this?

What a win-win situation! My only strong preference is the clip point over the spear, so the rest is all gravy!

I said a few weeks ago that due to the financial situation this was going to be the only knife I would purchase this year. So you can count me in. I want to thank you guys for all the work. It's not east to put this together and organize the whole thing. I'm looking forward to it. THANKS!!

I like what you guys have done! Great stuff;
I'm O.K.with D-2 or ATS-34, bone or stag, and the blades work for me, clip and Wharncliffe.
Personally, I'd like to drop the shield. Traditional Barlows didn't have them,
and it saves a buck or two. The fancy shield is enough decoration, IMO.
Either way I'll take two!!

I like Charlie's idea on no sheild. That long bolster is enough. ;).
(but will be in either way.)

Just to help visualize, here are some (admittedly crappy) drawings suggesting what could be done. Come on you real artists out there, let's see what ya got!!

I am in for 2 regardless and my only preference is jigged bone.

Bastid wrote"Paypal will not be an option on this."

BUT It's going to be very hard to purchase if I am unable to use Paypal. I am happy to pay any extra PP surcharge but it is just so difficult to send the money any other way....

Gus can I be difficult and ask you to make an exception for me? :o

We can work out the non-US issues I promise. ;)

I'd prefer stag - what color and jigging would the bone have?

Depending on how many orders, it might be worth getting the stamped bolsters. Skip the shield and numbering and it might not be too much to add to each knife. Here's a pic of a 3.5" Col.Coon barlow from Queen. I assume the etched bolster the knife would have would look something like this if it were etched.

Here's a pic of a stamped bolster. (I like the winterbottom too!)
