Happy New Year Buck Brethren...

Here is the start of this year's "show and tell".

I used my Hartsook to cut up a leftover chilidawg for lunch tomorrow...put it in the bowl of chili off to the side with some peppers. Not a pretty sight, but tasted great

And, I used my Buck Bottle Opener to crack open a beer. Twist offs, but I'm a girlie man. Had to put down the camera to grasp the bottle to actually open it...but wanted to take the action pic :D LOL, I just noticed the Vise Grips in the back I used to see if the Hartsook would bend.

Just stumbled on this pic and thought I'd post it. Gotta love any place any place called "Rib Eye". I stopped here on my way back from a family gig. It's in Chehalis, WA off of I-5. And, to keep thread related, I did use the 110 I had with me to cut my medium rare rib eye ;)

I used my 8" boning knife from the Empress Trio to trim some chuck eye before dashing to the grill w/ it.The Colonel sure enjoyed them.DM

Used my 119 this morning to cut my prilosec otc tablet out of its blister pack. then cut up a bannana for breakfast.

BA,
If you get in the center of the country and are going down I-40 there is a Rib Eye Steak House in Fort Smith,AR also one called Doe's Eat Place.....
I cut up some boxes with a 309 I found "in" a gravel country road at stop sign. It had been run over several times and was pinched together on the sides and won't close without work. I am afraid it will crack if I pry on it, so I just sharpened it up and threw in my shop catch all hole for a 'cutting tool'.

Used my 110 and 303 to debone and cut up about 80 lbs of field dressed deer yesterday and today (sorry, no pics); its off to the sausage factory tomorow!!

You know, David you need a picture in your Avatar. How about the Colonel?

Well, I opened a package with some ziricote and macassar ebony with my Tempest.

I was down to the Cabela's in Lacey yesterday and almost went down to Centralia to the Vanity Faire to look for Wrangler's - talked myself out of the extra drive time. Check it out next time as they have some good sales on hunting clothes.

I'll look into that steak place next time down. I live in Puyallup and next time you drive through, give me a call.

Taking your lead tonight, I fried a porterhouse in olive oil and gave it a good dusting of Montreal Seasonings and used my four dot 110 to cut it up. It was like butter.

Cheers,

BJ

About at 2"x2" swath of hair behind my left wrist showing someone how
sharp it is. I've done this so often I'm no sure if I'm suprised either that any
still grows back or that it would be so thick it could hide a pheasant.

Just got my cow elk back from the butcher. Sausagification process complete, salamification and ect finished as well. Used an old Buck Modern kitchen knife to sample the salami and cut the german sausage up to be added to my mac-n-cheese! Yummy.

Used my 172 today to poke a hole in the end of my finger...Doh!!

My Thumb,,, Ouch!!! :(
While wiping off the blade of my 110 with a piece of tissue, I got a hunk of the meat on top of the cuttin' part. Didn't hurt a bit as it sliced in due to the sharpness, but I know it now. Be careful out there, these things bite.

I have found that over the counter cold pills, as well some other medications, are a challenge to open. Especially those that have individually packed pills in a blister pack! They are not only kid proof, but "old men proof". So, my Stag 303 has become a great medical equalizer! It's also great for scraping off the sticky tin foil top of a pill bottle and then stabbing the cotton inside to remove it. Maybe it's just easier to have a runny nose and sore throat!!! You're cleaning an elk Joe H. while I'm digging for a cold pill. Oh, the injustice of it all.

I used an Alaskan Guide 110 to slice open a package that came in the mail. What was inside you ask? Strider/Buck Tarani. I decided it was time to give one a spin.

Well it's not exactly cutting but I used my Buck X-Tract (phillips bit) to put another Buck display case together. This is to hold some of my "110"s. The X-Tract may not be made here (it is still a Buck) but I find it a very usefull muti-tool. IMO

Rusty,
They really should just include a knife with those stupid blister pack pills! Those pill companies have got to realize that anyone trying to get to the product, is already in a foul mood right?
This might make you feel better about the elk...and stop me if you've heard this one before....5 minutes after I arrowed the cow, out steps a nice bull! It was the one I "winged" in the early season. Dang-it...

I'm sure the pill companies would "blister pack" any knife they might include with a pill bottle!!! I hadn't thought about the "foul" mood, but you're right. So, did the bull look at you as you were cleaning his sweet heart and "smile" as if to say, "I'm in a foul mood Joe because you winged me and I can't find any pills to take for the pain?" That was great that you used one of Herb's knives.
