2010/2011 Hunting Season Pic's

Awesome first Buck! My first was a little 6 point. I'd be proud of one like that anytime :thumbup:

Yeah, you might as well tell your son to stop hunting... Great buck! Better than many of us will ever see...
 
Thanks Guys I'm still grinning ear to ear. ---> just like this :D anyway if some of ya'll aren't seeing monster bucks, some of the things we done was keep the pressure off for a season or 2. put out some good quality food plots. and DO NOT LET THEM BE HUNTED! 3. Talk to your hunting community. get them on board to only take does for a season or 2, those small bucks will turn into BIG bucks the next year.

That's no lie. Where my dad lives in South Texas, it was always said that the deer just didn't have the genetics to be big. They recently instituted new rules that all legal buck have to have a 13" inside spread, or one slick antler. The change was to give bucks the ability to grow to 2.5 years (TPWD did research showing that most bucks older than 2.5 had at least a 13" inside spread). They are killing deer now that rival anywhere else in the state. Here are two that my dad and his wife shot, less than 12 hours apart, from the same deer stand on 12 acres. If I remember right, these were taken the weekend before Thanksgiving.

I went out yesterday and shot two does within 5 minutes of each other. Both 70lb does and both with different groups of does. Saw over a dozen deer yesterday but no shooter bucks.

No luck during second season shotgun or late muzzleloader. So I decided to head down south for late antlerless.. and that was all she wrote. Shot with a .243 from a Marlin XS-7 and field dressed/skinned/butchered with a Fallkniven S1 and a Frosts Mora
 
Some pictures from this season, also shot a few does just didn't take pics.
First is my little boys first deer hunt, second is spike I shot so he would stop eating all my corn, third is Daddy with hogs shot with muzzle loader he shot 3 that evening but we only found two, Fourth is Daddy and my son with Alabama 6 point, and last is me with Alabama 9 point
