I don't care what it turns out to be, I'm new to the forum and I love it. Any knife will do for me :D
I'm in for this one! put me on the list :D

Mountain Man was my top choice, but a Case Soddie with a 154CM blade in the same finish as the Bose Norfolk with the 2010 "10 dot" Case tang stamp on one side and our custom tang stamp on the other, Nickle liners and pins, Birdseye pivot, and Stag handles sounds pretty good too.
Might even be a able to afford 2:thumbup:

While stag may not be everyone's first choice, I would point out that (A) the cost of stag is rising dramatically, (B) many of us don't have as much stag as we would like because it's already been very expensive, (C) this is a chance to get a really special knife with stag for a reasonable cost, and (D) stag is undeniably a "premium" handle material, and is entirely consistent with this project.

I'd like D2 on a Canoe......hey, that rhymes.

As long as it's not an Elephant Toenail with mokume bolsters(any other bolsters on the toenail would be ok though) then I'm in. :D

Anything will do for me.

I really like Queen's D2 as well. I don't have a canoe so that might work. And hey....if we can het mokume bolsters for on a knife for $100 or less then I'll definately go for it.

It is with apologies that I announce that the Stag deal is no longer happening! It is no longer available.:(

To keep things on budget, I believe we will have to opt for Bone or Wood, if we are keeping the material natural/traditional.
I suspect we have a wide range of choices, so I'm sure we can agree on something great that fills the bill!
Again, my apologies!

No apology necessary Charlie.......Let's move on......
Personally a nice bit of caramel or red S&M jigged bone would go down a treat for me:)

OK, no sweat.....no stag......
I think a smooth bone would be nice. I prefer bone to wood. If it is wood, ebony would be a good choice.

1st off I would really like to say THANK YOU to the Stag donor for the `09 knife & the offer for this project. I for 1 really appreciate it!
Now I have no way of knowing what happened with the Stag offer, but with all the whinning about "another Stag handled knife" I'm not surprised that the offer was withdrawn. :grumpy:
Stag for 100 knives is a LARGE expense and it seems to me that we just shot yourselves in the foot on this deal.

Just my opinion,
Dave

Let's keep it civil. No need to accuse anyone of whining. Some expressed their preference regarding stag. If we start arguing, we will only make it a harder chore for those coordinating this effort.

Personally, I would have enjoyed a stag handle, but am in for anything with thin carbon steel blades and traditional handle material.

Nobody whined about stag, just a preference issue. No blame, no worries.

I'd prefer bone first, wood second. (for some reason that doesn't right) :o
Red, amber....

For wood, Ebony sounds OK, I can't think of another at the moment.

It's too bad the stag deal fell through. Bone or wood is fine with me though. I think ebony has a nice classy look as far as wood goes, but I would like to see something with more visual interest. I'd prefer a wood with more contrast like tulipwood, kingwood, or zebrawood. I think it would be cool to have it with something we don't see that much.

I'm up for pretty much anything though and can't wait to see what the final desicion is going to be.
