2011 Arkansas Custom Knife Show - Pictorial Review

I can only echo the sentiments of all the other posters..
Terrific review, Roger, and excellent images.
Some very candid ones.
The Arkansas Show looks like forged blade Heaven, truly World Class.
Thanks SO MUCH, Roger !  :)

Thanks, Roger! I'm so glad that you were able to make to the show at the last minute. The review was great as always. See you in Atlanta.

Completely awesome review Roger!!!!

Holy moly, what a show!!! Sure wish I could have been there... so many amazing knives!

Nice to see lots of photos of old friends, and to put faces with names of folks I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet.  :)

Nick, you would have been a welcome addition (as a maker/table holder in particular). Try to work this one into your schedule for next year.;) It truly is a great show.

Roger, thanks so much for taking the time to pull this together!

Got to see some of my favorite people in the world together and having a great time. Wish I could have been there with y'all.

It was great to see and talk to you at the show Roger.

You have put together a very impressive review that is second only to actually being there.

Thanks for taking the time to put this together.

Rob, wish you would have been there! Please mark your calender for next year.
This is your kind of show!

Great review, as usual, Roger. It was good seeing you.

The AKA show is always good, but this year seemed to be an excellent year. As a spectator this year, I could relax and take it in at a casual pace and really enjoy the knives that were present.

I'm a little biased because I live about a half hour away, but I can talk with the guys I consider my mentors and see an incredible amount of top shelf forged blades in a setting that is relaxed and comfortable.

Thanks and a huge shout-out for your photos and comments bringing the show to life for all those poor souls who couldn't go!
John

I would be one of those poor souls. :( Sure hated to miss this year's show. The AKA is a favorite of mine, and this is only the second I've missed since my first. Two memories from that first show I attended were John Fitch running around with one of his sheathed 12-inch bowies sticking out of his back pocket the whole show (now that's a backpocket knife!), and Danbo going up and down the aisles waving a large Jason Knight chopper around in the air. Made an impression on me. :D

Roger, thanks so much for the great review. So many talented makers and great knives at this year's show. It deserved an outstanding review, and you sure delivered!

Plus, love the camper you and Ron have planned. A lot going on in that piece of ivory you have chosen to anchor it.

Joe, you were missed by more than a few. Wish you could have made it!

This thread represents a lot of thoughtful work and some better than average photography. Thank you.

Can anyone tell me if this is a standard-size Sendero or if it is as large as it appears in the photo? Any guess from those who examined it in person as to actual overall length:

Alfred, it is El Giante Sendero. I got a bit happy with the hammer and made it about an inch longer than normal.

Roger you did good on the review. Bob and I both enjoyed the show and visiting with friends again, which is the fun part for us, being out of the shop and office to just jaw about knives. Chuck, David and Lin do an excellent job.
