I don't want to be the culprit that throws out bad mojo, but would someone please ask how the 2011 forum knife project is coming along? :D

That's not bad mojo, just healthy curiosity.
I too have been thinking allot about it lately. It would be nice to know if we will see any progress pics this year or not, and if so, what the schedule is.
I assume prototypes will have to be made, any tentative date on those? And will we get a peek?

I have checked in with GEC on some other things, and I have heard they have started to design the tooling. I would not be surprised if Campbell gets some pictures/parts, or something to show us that will indicate progress in the near future!!
I can hardly wait!!

Hi guys -

I am excited for this as well - I can't wait to see some pictures!

best regards -

I just sent an email to my contact at GEC to who I sent the deposit to. I asked for a proto type pic if they have it, and a status update. You all have been more then patient, but as we all know, the wait is hard, but also sweet knowing we have a knife in the mail somewhere! As soon as I get a response I will chime right in.

Alright, GEC sent me one picture. It is the jigged bone and a liner. I know it is not much, but hey! the bone looks pretty good. The bone look really good.

Hope this piques your interest....

I like the profile. And when that bone is finished out, it will gain some highlights, and I bet will look great!!
Woo Hoo!!

I bet the bone is going to look great once it gets trimmed down to fit the liners! It's good to know they have started making them. Thanks for the update.

Arg. I don't know if seeing the teaser pic makes it easier or harder. :)

Hi Chris -

Thanks for the pic and update. Like everyone else, I am anxious to see these knives. I have been looking at GEC knives since I became involved in this project and I have to say I am impressed with what the company is putting out.

The good folks on this forum picked out an outstanding pattern that will allow me to experience another truly traditional slip-joint pocket knife.

best regards-

The jigging won't look like the picture above. It will be similar to the jigging pattern shown in the original 2011 knife thread. That picture was provided to give people an idea of the color of the bone.

Nice work. I hope the size of the "jigs" is scaled down a little. Seems a little "coarse" in this interpretation.
