*sniffs* I am so glad I ordered and paid my GEC 2011 forum knife... *sniffs again*... its so beautiful... :D

The jigging won't look like the picture above. It will be similar to the jigging pattern shown in the original 2011 knife thread. That picture was provided to give people an idea of the color of the bone.

I removed the picture to avoid any confusion.
Can't wait to get mine!

The bone in the picture is one from the new GEC Whaler patterns, hence the swell center, that jigging is huge compared to what would be on the forum knife.

Boy. I'm sure looking forward to this knife. I have a question about the bottle opener though. Can the side of the screw driver; specifically the inner angle opposite the hook of the bottle opener (widest angled edge of the screw driver above and opposite the hook) be ground to a thin knife edge so as to use the bottle opener/screw driver as a can opener as well? Thanks

I'd have to look back and see what we discussed with GEC. The problem would be that if your grind down the screwdriver, you compromise the strength of the tip. The difference with this blade and say, an electrician's knife, is that the screwdriver on that knife is much longer, so you have plenty of room to put an edge on the screwdriver blade without extending the sharp portion up to the tip.

Thank you Sir for the explanation. Yes, after pondering it a while I see other problems as well, not the least of which would be how quickly such an edge would wear, compromising the whole deal. Thankfully now I have no excuse to mess with a good thing! Regards, John

Man that looks good  Can't wait to see her all gussied up! Thanks for sharing Campbell.

It's gotta be rewarding fun, being able to create a knife like that from scratch!!
It sure is fun watching! Thanks Campbell, and Great Eastern!!

Since the knife was paid for long ago, when it arrives it will seem more like a gift then a purchase:D

I'm looking forward to my first forum knife. Also my first GEC!
