There are a couple threads floating around with 2011 knife questions/updates, but I thought I would start a new thread where we can consolidate things and keep you updated. It seems to be coming along nicely, as many of you have seen from the pictures.

Thanks for sharing. Starting to look really good. Love the way the cap opener looks.

It's cool that we get to see that. Thanks for sharing. I'm looking forward to the finished product in my hands.

Thanks Campbell -

Looking great!

Very exciting to see these coming along. Looking forward to dropping this one in my pocket! :D

Looks great! have they tried the bottle opener out? the hook part looks a little shorter than my other knives with that...I intend to open a few brews with it the day it comes in!

Looking great so far :D

Thanks Campbell. I always enjoy a WIP, and it's even better when it's a knife that I will eventually get. Hopefully the corners of the screwdriver tip will stay nice and crisp like they are now and not get rounded over in the finishing process.

After the BF knife is delivered to those here,
Are they, going to release the pattern in other scales
to the public?
It looks real good.

Will that be the actual placement of the pin closest to the cap? It looks close to the end based on early drawings of the knife. Seems like this would be more like if knife was a barehead pattern, or more of a tipped end.

I'm probably missing something, but thought I'd ask anyway. I like seeing the WIP shots.

Hal, if you are talking about the handle pin, I believe it will be placed where it will not jeopardize the part of the bone between the cap and the EO notch. That is the most frequent place for the bone to crack. That pin, of course, only holds the bone on the scale.
There is a pin, seen on the rough scale in Campbell's pix, that anchors the cap and the spring ends at the same time.

Oh wow. I missed the whole development of this knife. That thing is going to be amazing. I want one!
Hopefully GEC will use that pattern for a bunch of runs, because it looks just about perfect. Easy open jack in just the right size! Kudos to the gents who put together the specs for this thing, y'all did a great job.

Thanks Charlie. You can tell I only use them, not know how they are made. I can see the bolster pin is basically the same now. Great looking knife so far.

It was mentioned in one of the original threads that GEC purchased new tooling with the intent of making more of this pattern in the future. I don't know if they plan on making them with the caplifter/screwdriver secondary, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them with a pen blade instead at some point.
