Thanks guys. I'm still debating about a second one, but I will definitely use the one I am getting!

Well, Gene's artwork is (to me) quite beautiful & would look great blown up to A3 or larger, framed & on the wall in my library. I'm nowhere near that talented to create a version of my own, being more blacksmith than draughtsman.
If Gene were willing to sell copies, I'd buy one. :)
 
He said in one of the threads he was ok with sending a high resolution copy to guys if there was no objection from the organizers...then just take that to a printing shop to chuck through a large plotter. I want to frame the art for this years and the 2010 knife for my man cave. :)
 
opened a buy group over at the italian HSL forum, i'm probaly going to order 2 but I'd like to see if someone else likes it and wants to split cost
I may send a PM to one of the organizers if I need help

Are you talking about the labels or the picture of the knife? If you were talking about his mock-up picture of the knife, I was simply saying to wait until the knives are produced and get a blown up picture of that.

Chris (CJ65) is taking the lead on the orders (and doing a great job I might add). I'd suggest getting in touch with him about the orders, and then if you have a question about anything else, any of the 3 of us would be happy to help you out.

Ah, I understand now. I'm talking about the mock up art work, as a whole not just the knife image itself. I reckon it'd look great on the wall, provided that the committee & Gene permit it.

posted a thread on the HSL forum, let's see if someone else is interested over the weekend, I'm trying to bring people to know gec here, bought several in group and people seem to like it, a limited one is even more appealing too
slipjoints are not so common or knows here, unfortunately, too many modern/tactical ones around..

I heard that it was 134, and I trust my source, but have not confirmed. We do not want to stop there. We are working on a goal of 150, partially because GEC has to tool up for this pattern, and needed to firm a price for the knife and such. I think we should secure 150 before the 27th. If we stay at this current rate, we will make it. Time is running short on the ordering.
 
As you said the last minute rushers will come...much like anything with a deadline people will procrastinate or find out about it just in time to get an order in. As for tooling up I'm sure GEC will more than make their money off this pattern selling it as a new model, as a machinist our first run with new jigging and tooling will cost us money so it is an overhead on expenses which has to be made back selling the product at a price to cover this overhead, in this case the sale of the forum knives will cover the overhead making this new pattern.

Its a win/win situation.

I've been lurking around this sub forum for years but decided I couldn't pass up another Forum knife since this years is by GEC. Not to mention I can't think of anything I would change about the knife if I was the one deciding. I'm really looking forward to being a part of this,
