Ok guys, I'm going to put this to bed since I did the post with the pattern choices for the BF Knife. I said to not vote in the poll if you would not be purchasing a 2011 knife. Perhaps I should have clarified, but I didn't think people would get into a gripe over it. I did not want people who had absolutely no interest in ordering a 2011 knife to vote in the thread just for sh$ts and giggles. My intention was not to say that if you voted, you must buy a knife or we will hunt you down and ruin your life. It was meant to keep randoms from ruining it for the rest of you.
I understand if you didn't vote for the caplifter, don't like the caplifter, and don't want to buy the knife now. I'm fine with that and so is everybody else. I needed to have an estimate when I was in discussion with GEC about our quote. If GEC is going to spend thousands of $$$ of its own money to get ready to manufacture this knife, they need to know potential orders. If I told them we would probably have an order for 15 knives, then they would say "Ok...that's fine, but each knife will cost you $1000 each." After I looked at the number of people who voted in the polls, as Chris alluded to earlier, I anticipated that a certain percentage of voters would not order a knife, and that is the number I took to GEC. The number I gave to GEC was about 20-25% lower than the total number of votes. This was necessary and it is what it is.
So let's move on from the topic and talk about the attributes of the knife and the good/bad of the pattern. Nothing more needs to be said about the voting process for either the knife or the labels. It's distracting and just makes our job more difficult.
