2011 Forum Knife Shipping Status

My knives arrived today. They look great! No problems whatsoever, and after trying the bottle opener myself, I don't have any problems with it. It works well enough, and maybe one rainy day i'll grind a little more out of it.

Thanks for the hard work Andy!

The packaging was over the top perfect!

Now I am excited to start the 2012 discussions! :D

Mine were supposed to be delivered but instead they "Left Notice" (which I can see by the tracking number, not by anything in the mailbox :grumpy:) Hopefully it comes tomorrow. If not, I'll have to make the trip on Wednesday.

I'm pretty sure the dots started with last year's forum knife. That one had 10 and this one has 9. Kind of like Case's dating system based on the markings on the tang.

Correct - a dot will be removed each year. Interestingly, we have to send the stamp to an engraver who removes the dot to ensure the stamp is not ruined.

It's landed in the country!

Now comes the tricky part: I have to pry it out of the cold dead hand of Customs'..:D

I hope you get it soon!

You are very welcome. I enjoyed the challenge of sending all of the packages out.

Bummer - I did not use confirmation or anything, just priority and insurance. Maybe because you live in the city and they cannot leave it in your mailbox? Good luck!

I just received mine minutes ago and am very happy with it! As everyone had already stated, it is perfect in every way .. even right down to the tube label!

The EOJ is extremely stout and handsome too if I may add!

A huge thank you to Andy & crew, GEC, and all the members' input that made this happen!

Picked mine up from the mailbox tonight. Many thanks to Andy and all who were invloved with this years knife. Very happy with mine and how they turned out all together!! Top notch job.

In my experience, having insurance on the package usually results in them leaving a notice rather than just dropping it off when no one is home.

My knives arrived today. Thank you to the project team (and associates) for seeing our project through. Great packaging, and just a really nice knife. The bone is nicely jigged, with good color. I really like the broad swedged spear blade. This will be a pleasure to carry.

Thank you again,
Jay

I didn't mean to raise any concerns, I was just excited to get home yesterday and was bummed they weren't there. My building isn't big enough to have a doorman and the mailboxes aren't big enough for a package. It could be they rang when no one was in or it could also be that my regular mail lady had the day off and the substitute didn't bother delivering. My regular lady is really good so I'm not worried.

Edit: Just got word (a few hours ago apparently) that the package arrived and delivered by our usual mail lady. What a day to be stuck late at the office...

My knife arrived. It is gorgeous and the bone alone is worth the cost. It is some of the best coloring and neatest jigging I have seen. I haven't used the cap lifter yet, but even if it is less aggressive, the knife is perfect! I can dress it with a file, no biggie. Thank you Forum Knife Team 2011!!!

Mine's here but I have to negotiate with the Minister of Finance and Domestic Tranquility before I can open it. It may have to wait for Christmas.
