I am not taking the financial risk, but it would appear that there are enough knives pre-ordered (aka verbal committment) to place the 200 knife order at GEC. A number of people (including me) have indicated that they will take more than one knife to make the project happen. These generally are not included in the survey tally. For example, I voted for one, but later indicated I would take two if needed. There are a number of folks like me.
I don't care if Sparks collects the money up front. You should be able to ship the knives in the small USPS pre-paid boxes which is how I would figure the shipping cost. I would also not be offended it there is a small profit on the project.
I don't know how many knives in the past were pre-ordered. But the minimum 200 order is just that, the minimum and there could be an order for a larger number placed which would bring down the unit cost a bit.
