2012 Bladeforums Knife - Chatting Thread

This past year or so, I have been stepping into the traditionals forum a lot more. I can certainly say that it's an honor to be able to participate for my first time in getting a TF knife. I'm real sorry to have missed out on last years offering all the pics from that are sweet!!! I extend all of my thanks and gratitude to all who have helped to put this into action. It takes a lot of hard work and I'm sure that you guys (and gals?) are not compensated well enough for this task! Thanks so much for everything that you have done.
 
Folks were running out of time if we want this to be a 2012 knife. Leaving it open longer is not an option I'm afraid.

I also want to add that everyone should personally thank Manfred. If it wasn't for him this project wouldn't be as far as it is. I'm telling you what with all the road blocks we've run into this year I have wanted to throw the towel in and say the h*** with it but Manfred kept pushing forward. So I personally thank everyone for there help and Manfred for keeping the team afloat when we felt like sinking.

I think it will happen! The folks on this forum will pull through like they always do! If the count is a little off, it will
be where it needs to be when they come in!! Let's get'em ordered.... Thanks again for all the hard work!!

Quick thought. My favorite GEC's came with no etch and a satin finish. Is the plan for this one mirror finish or satin finish? I think GEC does a much better job with satin finish.

Full specs with pics in the stickied tally thread (Everyone make sure to vote if you're getting one!!!!!!) but for the blade finish it will be:
"Blade Finish: Satin, Swedges on both blades, no etch, no serial numbers"
 
Thank you Trand! My mistake for not seeing that. That's an awesome combo they went with. Should be a really nice knife.

AND don't forget there's another poll (groan). But it's nice and simple this time - how many knives do you plan on buying? Get this up to 200 and we win!
 
Just wanted everyone to know that the stickied poll is a NEW poll (it's not the Fate of the Forum Knife Poll). I know, I know, we're legislating this to death. But the new stickie is the one we're using to tally up knife orders, so please vote if you haven't already done so!
 
OK, I'm confused. Which poll ends tomorrow? Are you folks saying that if we don't reach 200 by tomorrow there will be no forum knife?

I wasn't gonna buy one but if we are down to 1 day or no knife then I'm in. If we have until 6/27 then I will hold off and see what happens.

Are we in panic mode here?
 
I thought the tally thread is to get a more accurate number to go back to GEC with. The higher the number, the better we can negotiate (I hope.)

That post was from a couple days ago and was referring to the Fate of the Knife poll. Manfred started a new one to get a more accurate count of how many knives everybody wanted. At the bottom of the first post, it says he is going to let it run for 2 weeks.
