2012 BladeForums knife --NEW update 2-22-2012

I'm still very interested and plan to buy one. Price will be more of a deciding factor than pattern for me. I'm just glad for the chance.

I am still in, I am assuming we will still be utilizing our BF stamp and hope that this year does not become the end of our BF knives as I love my 2010 and 2011 forum knives...I know this doesn't effect me now, but will international orders be affected? Sparks knife store when I lived in Australia I remember didn't handle international credit card orders so I really hope we can come to some sort of an arrangement for these people (I am willing to act as a proxy if anyone needs help abroad).

Really looking forward to this. :)

I will keep my thoughts simple,

If we have the pattern, manufacturer, rough ETA, and final cost nailed down before I have to commit non-refundable money, then I will be in.
If not, not.

+1

And
thanks to all the Folk that have already begun to do the hard work
and
thanks to Kevin for steppin up to bat

I'm in for one for sure. Depending on what is picked, maybe two, but one for sure.

Thanks very much for your efforts on our behalf Frank. I can see that this year will be complicated as we work out the template for the new system which will be used in years to come.

I am definitely in for two regardless of the manufacturer or pattern and if I can be of assistance in any way please do not hesitate to call on me.

With Thanks........

Steven

Nice to see the engines revving up again! I have faith that this new system will work just fine. We the people get to collectively design the knife, and decide who makes it (I believe), and Kevin and company will take care of the tedious work that brave souls in the past have shouldered.
If we are sensible, we will get a good useable knife at the right price.

So I'll kick things off on the restart here, by proposing a seven bladed kitchen knife with a spatula, cranking can opener, and 1-egg folding frying pan! A man's gotta eat you know!!:D

O.K, O.K!! Lame joke, but you get the idea! I'm looking forward to everyone's ideas!!

FALSE START!!!!!!!

We're just tightening up a couple of details - the fun should begin shortly.

I would be in with a deposit for sure. Last year's knife was an amazing project!

I can't seem to find any pics of the past BladeForums knives. Would someone mind pointing a new guy in the right direction?

Here's the 2010 version.

Spark answered the questions. See bottom of opening post.

Answers from Spark:

-Yes, payment can be made through paypal
-Yes, I should be able to do priority international but I'll have to see the rates on it.
- Non standard models are fine, that's not a problem. If the committee wants to do it, great, or I can do it. The big thing is that the members need to hurry up and decide on a design
-If the stamp is still viable for use, I don't see why that'd be a problem, right? It just gets sent to the manufacturer, right? [end quote]
Thanks for answering the questions Spark - It is nice to know the parameters.

The stamp was designed to be used for ten years. It goes to the stamp maker to grind off a dot, then he sends it to our maker of choice for the current year.
