Argh... I had to give in. I've been wanting a Skyline for a while now, and this looks too exciting to pass up. +1 sold.
 
What is the shipping fee for a second order for the 3rd and 4th Skyline? Would it just be an extra Buck?

Anyway, I gave in, dusted off the CC, and ordered 2. Very nice choice BTW, an awesome EDC (that I will never EDC :D), perfect color G-10, FFG, SV30. If I were asking Kershaw to make me a Skyline, I think that would have been exactly what I would have asked for...

I just wish this had their new deep carry clip instead of the old one, but I'm still excited!

If the design is locked, or if the Kershaw fairies are secretly making these already, well then, I'd understand.

That aside, are you saying the new clip is more expensive than the old?

I'm not sure if there's already a deep carry clip that fits the hole pattern of the existing Skyline, but I'm guessing not. Having said that, if we're referring to the fold-over clip of the new Cryo, it won't fit -- at least, not tip up. It might barely fit in tip down position, but it doesn't fit the scale in tip up position until well past the innermost body screw. Changing the factory equipment to accommodate the wider hole pattern probably isn't cost effective for a 500-knife run. To that end, you can guess why Kershaw didn't design a whole new clip either, and again it comes down to cost. I imagine the current Skyline is selling well enough to not warrant updating the design with a different clip and incurring all the costs that come with it.

I can't confirm the price on either clip, but what was chosen is the regular Skyline with a different color G10 and S30V blade. The other options that were suggested/requested would have put the cost of the knife well over the $100 mark or would have delayed production (in part to a very precise production schedule at KAI). This would have greatly dimished the appeal for many (according to their posts in the preliminary interest threads). Thomas posted a picture of the blue G10 a few pages back, so it would seem that these are already under production. At least that is the impression I got from the picture. There also was no deep carry clip available when the project was green lighted by Spark and Thomas.
 
I too wish for a deep carry clip for a skyline. I'd like to order one of these, but a sprint meerkat is calling my name as well... Don't have enough $$ for both. Maybe I should get a squeak and this instead of the meerkat and cryo... Decisions, decisions...

I say get the Squeak. It is a great small EDC knife and very non threatening knife unless people are just afraid of knives in general. I love both of my Squeaks in pink and black. Should give it a chance and get the Skyline :)
 
I ordered a second i could not stand the thought of having one and not carrying it nor carrying one and not keeping one Nib. I feel like a junkie

Ok, thanks.

But considering how great that deep-pocket clip looks on the Skyline, let's hope that that the 560 clip or some other turns out to be a perfect fit!
 
This is the first time I've visited this forum. I came to see about selling one or two of my Strider Fixed blades and low and behold the holy grail of Skyline. (its my fav edc)
 
I couldn't resist... in for one. I didn't see a way to put add a note with my forum handle though...

If anyone finds a deep carry clip for the skyline please let me know!!!
